We recommend only counting intentional fitness as fitness/exercise like MLAN613 is doing. Steps from normal, daily walking around does not rise to the level of fitness so you don't want to log that as calories burned from fitness. SparkPeople already includes a small multiplier in the BMR calculation and that accounts for those everyday type steps/activities.
