I have Medicare and I love the great coverage. I’ve had 2 hip replacements and have paid nothing out of pocket.

My health insurance is pure crap; it's an HSA so I have a high deductible. We don't get credits for gyms or anything. I do get up to $600 from my employer in my HSA account if I meet certain biometric markers.

The kicker? I work for a large healthcare company based here in Minnesota. Believe me, the care more about it's high level management, executives, and customers. Taking care of their employees to then take better care of the customers is of little value.

I only looked into it because my older sisters boyfriends mother has the insurance and she gets over $100 something every 4 month from a walgreens card and she can get over the counter stuff for medical items. That is why I was wondering about the program and then when I started reading more about it I found out about the gym membership and I can use it at more then just one gym. My local gym is less then 7 miles from my home but there are other gyms that use it all like ymca in my area but there over 40 minute drive one way. But would be great once a week while shopping to use the pool or what ever. But I can also get a free pool pass for weight lose kind of things for specific pools in the area. For free from my doctor.

I'm very fortunate in that I've had double coverage for some time now, so what I like best is that just about everything is paid in full. They both have a free gym membership, but even when it's free I don't use it, preferring to get it done at home thus skipping the hassles and the driving. One also has a $25 a month benefit for over the counter items by mail. All in all, I'm happy with my setup.

My Health Insurance has it setup where we receive gift cards if we complete tasks (I got $175 to Nike this year) and they also partner with a program called Rally which gives you tons of ways to get healthy. Right now they have me in a program called Real Appeal to help me lose weight. Every week I attend group sessions and have a personal coach. I love it!

I didn't get here in a day, but damn I had fun! I know it won't be easy to get out but I plan on having fun.

I personally signed up for a new health insurance program today that also works with with a fitness discount. The basic program from my local gym (Anytime Fitness) is included in there list of approved gyms. There personal trainer 30 minute setup thing is also included for free.

So the trainer will do my weight and height and stuff like that which is included with the free plan.

This new health provider sounds great.

This option as well as a few other options are what I was really excited about. The plan starts 1/1/2020 just in a month and a half or so.

Do any of you take advantage of your health insurance companies to help with your gym memberships or dietitian visits or anything like that.

Just wondering.
