Lots of different opinions and ways of using trackers and smartwatches here, I notice! I got a Pebble smartwatch way back when, and loved it (but FitBit bought out Pebble since then). When I started to look for a fitness tracker, I had a real hard time choosing. A lot of them today look and behave about the same, I think. I ended up choosing a FitBit Charge3. Since it's the first fitness tracking device I've tried, I'm reluctant to recommend or pan it. It isn't what I hoped it would be, so far (got it last Christmas) but, it's interesting to use.

I've had trouble just getting it to track day-to-day just with my phone or laptop. So I haven't ventured into syncing it to SparkPeople. From what I see, it looks as though the older Charge2 might be more reliable about syncing activities than the Charge3. But I'm also interested in the Garmin devices, especially because Garmin has a long and good record of providing tech for runners and active folks like that. I think if I had to choose now, I'd probably choose a Garmin, but I don't honestly know whether they sync with SparkPeople.

I do really like using the Charge3 heart rate display when I use a treadmill! It is helping me to try heart rate based training. I don't much like the nutrition tracking interface FitBit offers, and steps aren't a metric I find too helpful. But that's probably just me!

I went with a Garmin HR because I do water aerobics and needed something waterproof. I love it. It does sync with Spark.

I have a FitBit Charge 2 as well and enjoy it. It tracks everything I need it to and you can add friends and do challenges.

I also have a Garmin Forerunner 35 that I only use for the GPS function. I recently bought it to replace my Forerunner 410 that finally dies after about 10 years of use. The new Garmin has smartwatch features but I don't like it. I have friends who use it. I don't use it as my Smartwatch because my FitBit still works and it reminds you to move even at the end of the day and if you got a lot of activity in, like a marathon.Maybe the feature can be turned off, maybe not but that seems annoying to me.

I have the FitBit Charge 2. I can't justify buying the Charge 3 until the Charge 2 breaks. Keep in mind that FitBit has bigger watches than the Charge line that are similar to the Apple Watch.

Thanks, LADYHAWKE917! I am supposed to receive mine in the mail today. I can't wait to set it up and start using it tomorrow. I have never owned a FITBIT of any kind so I am sure there will be a little bit of a learning curve, but I know that seeing numbers will really help to push me to go that last little bit. I have a trip to Disney in May and I want to be more in shape and a better weight before then.

I got the Fitbit Charge 3 for Christmas and I love it so far. I had the 2, but I love the set up on the 3 better. It does link with spark.

VGER8946: Does your Charge 2 link up to sparkpeople? Just wondering. I just bought a Charge 3 the other day. I haven't received it yet, but I went with that one as I am at the pool with my daughter in the summer and I wanted something waterproof.

I personally prefer the FitBit brands. Their models and prices vary and each does different things, but they all track steps, workouts, etc. I use the Charge 2 at the current time, but am considering upgrading to the Charge 3 because of the extra water resistance.

I am interested in getting a smartwatch that will work with my Android phone. I have very little knowledge about what they can do other than track steps and other fitness activities. I'm not sure what brand/type would be most compatible with SparkPeople either. I'd love to hear what you love (or don't love) about your smartwatches. Recommendations (what to buy and what to avoid) welcome! Thank you so much!
