Outdoors is usually what I prefer, I'm hoping to get a treadmill though. With gyms being closed and it being so hot outside it's a struggle!

Outdoors...since I don't have a treadmill! But I do love just walking around the block. It is awesome being outside. I go just after sunset on hot days. Rarely any one on the streets here in my suburb so I don't have to worry about people/virus.

I do both.
Treadmill with incline as controlled training for upcoming long hikes, and local hikes to add the unstable terrain aspect and fun.

In the original post, BEACHLUVR4 asked, "I am starting over again this week. I want to know if going for walks outside is more beneficial or using a treadmill?"
I use a treadmill in the apartment and I walk outdoors. Of course, there are pros and cons to both.

Risks of walking outdoors:

1. Possible COVID-19 exposure.
2. Traffic hazards. In the spring of 2018, I was lucky to escape being run over on the sidewalk with only a broken leg.
3. Possibility of a mugging or other crimes.
4. Ultraviolet radiation.

It depends on your goal and area where you live. Preferably outdoor, of course. But if you leave in the prairie treadmill has a great advantage of incline. Another advantage of the treadmill is that you can watch something you like and learn something out of. However, you can always have an audiobook and learn something from there while you are walking outside. So, if you are ok just walking outside, definitely outside would be better.
