Carbonation in the soda causes fat cells to bloat and slows down their normal cellular osmosis meaning its not cortisol necessarily causing that belly fat, its the soda whether diet or regular, it not good for you.
Since cutting out soda I've lost over 35 pounds in 2 months .
Although you can lose while drinking soda, its slower and since it causes cellular bloat increasing your cholesterol there are no benefits other than the momentary self gratification of drinking it. I've dieted 50 years and drank diet soda. Every previous diet failed.Since I stopped drinking soda and drink water now I am finally losing weight.

More Low Carb Low Cal Veggies + Vitamins Minerals Amino Acids s & Chicory Root Powder = Healthier way to lose weight faster while sedentary!

Well done all you ex-soda-drinkers! I've never much liked the stuff, but in some social settings, I'll drink a diet Coke or diet Pepsi and find it quite satisfying. emoticon

wow! That is amazing! I struggle with soda every day! I don't like diet soda so it is full calorie, sugar coca cola! Such a bad habit, I am weaning myself off again and I need to stick with it this time!

Way to go, I can't wait until I can post something like this!!

Way to go! I have weaned myself off of soda as well! It was a gradual process for me, but I no longer crave it so am DONE with it. For me, it's water, tea, coffee, or beer/wine on occasion. emoticon emoticon

Awesome job guys! That's my next step. I stopped drinking regular coke and started drinking coke zero when I felt the need for a pop.

Awesome. Congrats USFGIRL11!!!

I learned as a child that me and sodas don't mix (incipient diabetic back then; now a definite Type 2). I hated all diet sodas for the aftertaste. Really like club soda or seltzer water. I own a sodastream disguised as a penguin. If you do a bit of googling, you can find a DIY for making your own sodastream machine use the industrial tanks. Lasts me about a year.

way to go - this is something I need to do. But I have to cut all carbonation due to GERD. Hardest thing to do when you live in the country and your water is yellow. We are going to purchase a water dispenser so we can get large quantities of water - once I have that, my chance of success will sky rocket.

Woo-hoo! I had to give up even the carbonation, due to bone loss... but this is a great time of year to start something... my last diet soda was on 12/27/2009... a red letter day with a deferred Christmas dinner.

Enjoy your new machine! emoticon

I haven't had any sodas since 12/25. My boyfriend bought me a sodastream machine so I could make my own sparkling water. I really don't crave sodas, just the carbonation.
