Gina; you are doing so well!!! I had hoped to lose 10 lbs this month but I'll be lucky if I end the month 2 lbs down. I have just been TOO stressed out these last 2 weeks. I have an endlessly long day ahead of me but then I have Thurs & Friday off so I'm going to try to get my act together then.

I am SO impressed with you!!! Send some of your motivation my way!!!

Back on tomorrow :)

That's great! I haven't done well this week; super stressful at work and my husband has been home sick all week. I'm sleep deprived from his snoring...!!!!!

I'm guessing you have snow? We are forecasted for snow for the weekend. We hardly ever get snow so it shuts everything down here. But my daughter will be happy!

I have the weekend off so I am going to work on getting back on track. Have a good Friday, inspite of the weather :)

The weather is really nasty here. So I better get around and get out the door. Of course NO SNOW day. ugh

Hello everyone-

I had a great Monday. I am working on increasing my water intake this week. I have drank almost a gallon of water and it's only 8:11 pm. I have probably 12 more oz. to drink. I am doing it this time.

I hope you two can break through the 180's and head into the 170's I can't wait for that day.

Have a great evening I will check back in Tuesday morning.

GL everyone, I'm stuck around 180. I'm trying to change things so I will lose again. This is the first time. I started around 247 but sometime around Sept, things got rough at home. I stopped exercising. I started up again around Christmas and I've crossed over to the Atkins diet. I probably will get on the DASH diet but I thought that maybe a change would help lose the weight.

I haven't been posting much although I'm here everyday. Just don't have much to say.

Hello & happy Sunday.

Week one was good but I always struggle in week two. Trying to stay focused. I've managed to get as low as 184lbs, at least 4 times over the last 4 years but never any lower. Hoping to break that barrier this week.

Did a small work out today - just stretching and some weights. Trying to get back into it.

Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their weekend. Gina; hang in there with me!

Hey Jake & anyone else reading this!

Tammy, how are you?

Well Saturday was a pretty good day. Here's hoping and planning for a good Sunday. I will start adding a little bit of exercise into the mix here shortly. Making small changes so that hopefully this time the changes become habits. Good habits.

Gina - that's fantastic! I am so happy for your and your 3.8 lb loss!

My work is super stressful right now and all week, I had to say I'm not going to use that as an excuse anymore. I am just so tired of looking like I do. We have to do this for ourselves. We have to be happy.

Hope things improve for you this weekend and you enjoy that beautiful weather! Pretty gray here but not cold so I'll live. I'm starting my workouts tomorrow... wish me luck.

I'll be on here later today & tomorrow. Talk to you soon. :)

Gina;

GOOD LUCK today with your re-start! Happy to hear things are going well with your husband's health and job. It's a little easier to accomplish the things we want if there's less stress around. I felt like the stress never ended last year... happy it's a new year.

I started again on Sunday; so far, so good. My schedule doesn't really give me time to exercise this week so I'm just trying to eat well, get some patterns going and hopefully start exercising on the weekend.

Have a great day :)

Welcome! We all need the support from each other. My husband isn't all that supportive either basically because I have started down this road so many times I can't even count. But this time I plan on completing the journey even if it takes longer then I hope.

A little about me: My husband and I have been together for 12 years we have an 11 year old daughter and a 6 year old son. I am a second grade teacher.

My goal is to check in with everyone on this thread daily and post my stats at the end of the day. I need the accountablity.

Can't wait to learn more about you and support each other on our journeys.

HI Jake! 2012 has to be better then 2011 was. So far hubby is cancer free and has a new fulltime job so that is helpful. It is either loss weight through sparkpeople or gastric bypass as that is the only opition my doctor gave me. Nice right? LOL

I am starting Tuesday morning. It's going to be a GREAT year.

Hey everyone! 2012 is going to be my year. My doctor basically gave up on me so I have to do this all on my own. I am going to prove to myself that I can be a lean, mean, sexy momma....lol This weekend I need to go grocery shopping and get healthy foods in this house and get a plan in place.

Who's with me to make this a GREAT year. A HAPPY and HEALTHY 2012!

Jodi, Gina & Tammy!!!!

Yep. Kidney stone... wouldn't want to go through that again. Had 10 days off work and I've been scrambling to try and catch up - work, life, family - ever since.

I see we are all not too active on here these days; I know it's hard as the holidays approach but I'm going to try to eat better and fit in some exercise from now until Christmas. I'm also creeping back up on the scale and so unhappy with what everything I HAVEN'T accomplished this year... thougt I'd try to have a more postive focus for these last couple of months in 2011.

Hope you three are doing well and hope to hear from you soon.

Take care,
Jake

Okay, so it is supposed to be in the 80's again tomorrow....surely these warmer fluctuations are coming to an end....right? 80's in October, come on now! HOWEVER, I have been having more good days then bad, so I am ecstatic. But for some reason, not ecstatic enough to jump on the exercise bandwagon. Why in the world is getting my butt up and moving such a fight ALL the time. I hate the constant mind battles that go on. I mean I get up and do it, but it is not all gung-ho like...it's a "crap, gotta do it" mentality. That does not seem healthy or all that fruitful. Any suggestions, ideas? I really can't do anything much different than I do due to being a bit at a disadvantage. But I am willing to try anything. However, my motto, "No more excuses" still stands so exercise will be done. It is the only way these pounds budge off my body. I have been doing strength training type moves for the past couple of weeks and, of course, my faithful cycling. On Sunday, I vow to sign up for SP Bootcamp again. The accountability there keeps me going and even though the mind battles occurred the whole time last time, I did actually enjoy the work-outs and the euphoric feeling that lasted for hours afterward. So....that is my commitment to get me back in the groove. SP Bootcamp starting Sunday, start posting EVERY day (until I go to FL 12/13-1/4 as will not have internet access), and post nutrition/exercise. In addition, I am following the Eat to Live program. While I've been very good remaining vegan, I have been eating too much of breads and pastas, hence, maybe no weight gain, but no loss either. On Eat to Live those are out for the first 6 weeks....probably longer for me since I want to lose weight and have so much to lose. There is no getting hungry on the program, when followed correctly....which is so simple, there is no reason to fail. I am excited! :) Got my plan in place....action starts Sunday...well, for Bootcamp sign-up anyway. Will start posting as of now and will continue with the strength training moves and cycling for now.

How is everyone doing? Miss all of you!!! Hope we can all start posting more consistently. I will need you Ladies!
Tammy

Life is meant to be experienced and enjoyed...I choose to live my life to the fullest with every second I am given. I am so blessed!

Gina- Sent the message! I know you will be able to get through this time. Stress can be so hard but I will definitely be here for you whenever you need me!

I thought I was getting on here more but then the weather got back into the 80's and humid and I was down and out again. I know the cold weather is coming to stay soon and that keeps my spirits up. Looking forward to getting back into exercising....sort of. Looking forward to being able to do it with no adverse weather stopping me because I know my weight only moves downward with exercise, BUT, I still struggle with fight of getting it done. That fight and struggle for me is harder than it was to overcome the boredom eating. Why in the world is it so hard to want to exercise when I know I feel so much better after I do it? That question just drives me crazy! But it was a fight every single day all through Fall-Winter last season, so here I go again!

Jake-how are you feeling? Did you pass the kidney stone? Hope you are doing okay. Jodi-miss you!

Hey girlies- not sure if anyone is checking this still or not. I am at my heaviest weight EVER and this is NOT okay. I feel so lost and alone in a dark forest with a monster after me. I do okay for half a day then screw it up with a snack or at dinner or even worse when everone is sleeping I eat another meal. I know its stress induced. This school year stinks and everyone is feeling burnt out and stressed out with all the pressure from administration and the state.

I have to get this under control but I don't know how on my own. Tammy is there anyway you could message me your cell number again maybe that would help.

Thanks everyone!

Gina

Welcome MZEllen! This is an awesome place to be for all sorts of support...glad you found SP! When you go to the Start page, at top of the page, click on Community, then on Spark Teams and then you can go through the teams to find ones that resonate with you and what you are looking for and need for support. I did a search for 200 lbs and here's the link for all the teams that came up: https://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/groups_search_results.asp?strMethod=search Hope that helps. Feel free to post here as well. We are three ladies who keep each other motivated. We are not as active as we used to be, but we do pop in and check in on each other. I have over 200-lbs to lose as well. :)

Gina-hang in there! That is why I would worry about you getting the gastric bypass because you would need to work on the emotional eating (my issue too, so I understand). I know some ladies who are back to their obese weight plus some because they continued to self medicate with food and regardless of the small stomach pocket left, they went right back to being obese; And in once case, it became life threatening because that small stomach pocket became so outstretched, it started leaking. You can do this! I used to go to Overeater's Anonymous meetings and those were very helpful, especially having a local sponsor to call whenever I needed it. There isn't one in this small, rural town I am in. Now my eating is okay, still can get caught up in boredom eating now more than anything, but I am doing good at keeping that at bay....even though I stay bored to tears locked up in this house all the time. You have my number (or if not, let me know and I can private message you) call or text any time you need emotional support. We are in this together!!!!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Hi everyone,
This is my third day here and I'm really enjoying using the food tracker and seeing how measuring things can make a big difference at the end of the day. I'm struggling with the exercise part as I've been out of practise for a while.
I'm still learning my way around the site. I have over 200 lbs to lose and I am doing this alone but I feel like I'm really 'in the zone' to be able to see this through this time.
Does anyone know of a thread specifically for people with a lot of weight to lose - that would be helpful for me. - Hope you're having a good day!emoticon

Hey girlies! Welcome back Jodi.

WOW this school year is so busy and my schedule is crazy. Then Monday- Thursday of every week my daughter is cheerleading so we are at school until 5:30 and then I come home eat dinner and go back and pick her up at 7pm.

Home life is still ify we have our good and bad days.

Diet NOT so good. I am self medicating with food. Right now I am heavier then when I was 9 months pregnant with both my kids. I hate to go anywhere but what am I doing about it nothing because the process is so long and difficult.... I know those a terrible excuses. I want a quick fix. LOL Don't we all.

Well its time to start getting ready for school so I better get the kids around.

Have a great Tuesday!

Gina

Okay, Ladies, where we all been at? LOL Jake, I certainly hope you are starting to feel better, on the mend. Jodi and Gina, how are you both doing?

I am excited Fall came with temps in the 70's. Still fluctuating up and down into the 80's but that's okay. Now I need to start the push in making myself exercise, beyond the cycler. I always did have to REALLY push to make myself exercise, even after feeling so great afterwards. So gotta start the talking to myself and motivating me!!!! Wish it was something I looked forward to doing. But the weather is just right now, no more excuses.

Happy Sunday!

Oh no, Jake!!! So sorry to hear that. How are you feeling today? Hope the healing process doesn't take too long and you will be back to feeling great and up and at 'em again! These set backs sometimes try to derail us.....I know you'll be back to exercising before you know it! Hang in there!

Nothing new here. Weather is getting better. Some days, upper 80's are still too warm for me, but the humidity has been low most days, so that is good. Getting so excited Summer is almost officially over. WHEW!

Gina-hope you are okay!

Have a great Monday night!

It turns out I've been feeling lousy because I have a kidney infection and possibly a kidney stone. So... lovely.

Hope you all are having a good weekend.

UGH! Know what you mean except I had a stomach virus going around. It hit the night before last and didn't go away until late last night, almost exactly 24-hours. YUCK! But feeling better today, so happy about that. Hope you get your energy back, Jake!

Gina and Jodi, how are you ladies doing?

Happy Friday everyone!

Hi Jake-great STATS Sunday! Glad you rest your body when you are tired....it's better for you! Hope work will be less busy for you the rest of this week.

I have been having better days with the weather starting to change. So excited! Still just pretty much cycling for now which I know doesn't challenge my body at all. But at least I am moving and helping circulation. Hoping to join SP's Bootcamp again this October. That is my goal. Food is good! Lots of Green Smoothies, 1/2 gallon a day, and one cooked meal at dinner. Calories a little low but right about 1200 calories, I am good with that because I know I am giving my body whole nutritious foods, nothing packaged except things like brown rice, dried beans and whole grain pasta, etc. :)

Gina and Jodi, how are you two doing?

Happy Tuesday!

Jodi!!!! I was just thinking of you yesterday! How nice to see you! Made my day. How is your family doing? And how are you?

Tammy: took my grumpiness out on my boss/best friend today. Only for 5 minutes! Then helped other people get over being grumpy!!! I think it's just the end of a long summer and we're all tired - lol. But I am fine today.Hope you are feeling better and the cool weather is headed your way. We are actually having the nicest weather we've had all summer; everyone's out & enjoying it.

Worked all day and started my work out at 8:30 pm. How's that for dedication? Ha ha ha

Thursday stats:

30 mi aerobics
15 min strength

That is my goal of 4 workouts for the week met. I work mid shifts (12pm-10pm) the next two days so I probably won't work out again until Sunday.

I love the the ' Happy- toe tapping- Thursday " so I'll sign off with that :)

Wellllll, hello ladies :) Thank you Tammy for posting for me. I was trying to catch up on all the posts. I have gained 10 lbs since last year. I didn't realize that until I went to re do my start page. So I guess I've got some work to do, it's killing my knees anyway. That's always a tell tell sign for me that I"ve gained TO MUCH. My body doesnt know what's going on with me, I've lost 15 lbs from stress then gained 10 of that back,,,,,to crazy. Things should be back to normal now, just alot lonelier. I've been working out for the past 2 weeks , but didn'[t start watching what I was eating until this past Monday . I'm hoping to really make this happen. Gonna go post my food, I'll be back later.

Jodi

Hi Gina! Have a great school year! Maybe you ladies will get a Weight Watcher's or exercise group going again??? That seemed to work out nicely for you.

Jake-awwww! Sorry things were getting on your nerves at work. Great job on the food and working out! A day off is always good, too...to give your body a break.

Jodi asked that I tell you all hello! She is slowly getting back to SparkPeople but she said she seems to have forgotten how to use the site. I will send her our link to the board.

I am doing okay. The temps will be in the 70's today and tomorrow, warmer than the past 4 days which stayed in the 50's and 60's. And back to the 80's by the week-end and all next week. I am so hoping we are done with the 90's though. I am ready for it to be cold so the house stays cold inside because then I can get back into the kitchen. I have a lot of vegan recipes I want to try out. I get grumpy because I am eating the same things all the time, ready for some new, tasty, healthy vegan recipes! :)

As a friend's 5 year old said, "Happy Toe-Tappin Thursday!"

Gina:

Happy to see you!

I went back to work today, after my (too short) break. I'd rather still be off. Everything got on my nerves; I think I did need a longer break :( Actually, I think I just didn't sleep well last night. Stuck to my calories in spite of being crabby. I actually didn't think about food all day, which was great for a change.

Day off exercising today. Promised myself I'll do a workout tomorrow, and hit my goal for the week. That would be nice. Hopefully a better day tomorrow.

Tammy, how are you doing?

Hey girls! I'm here. Today was the first day of school with students. WOW what a day. I was running all day long. My little toes are killing me from a summer of flip flops back to dress shoes and heels at that. What was I thinking. LOL

Well being back to school will definetly help with my diet as I have NO time to snack. That's a good thing I guess. Slowly planning on trying to schedule some me time in the mornings to exercise before school.

Things are still iffy on the home front. It is what it is. Hope everyone has a GREAT Wednesday.

Gina
