I'm at an age where if something gets under my skin I say something ... then I'm over it. I've tried to remove all the toxic people from my life. But...if I have to pick one thing, lies. It's cowardly.

People who act like every single day is a crisis, based on what they see on the news (I use to term loosely) or the political narrative of the day, and want everyone to get upset and bent out of shape with them. Most of them are what I call "Facebook warriors."
I desperately want to ask if they don't have personal problems to attend to.
How about people who talk on the cell phone while they are in the restroom !
This wouldn't be a big deal if it was one person now or then. But I "hear" this all the time when I'm in the bathroom. Someone in the next stall is talking on their cell phone.
What is so important that can't wait for 5 minutes of privacy ? Worse, is nothing private any more ? And yes, I've had friends call me from the toilet. How did I know this ? I heard them flush ! I asked them, are you in the bathroom. They'd reply, yep.
at the supermarket....customers AT the register who decide that they forgot an item and decide to go get it, leaving everyone hanging until they get back. And these stores are not small...it takes a while until they get back. It has even happened to me while waiting on the express line. The next time someone asks me: "You don't mind if it just get one item...it will only take a minute"....I'm going to lose my cool.
Yes I mind. Please pay and then go back for your item.
I saw this thread earlier and I couldn't think of anything. Then, I started reading posts on the feed. I remembered a big one for me. I can't stand it when people write "loose weight" instead of "LOSE weight". Arghhhhhh

People who ask for your advice and then argue with you if it doesn't agree with what they want to do. If you want me to validate your opinion, then ask for that, don't get mad because I don't agree with you.

If you have formed the habit of checking on every new diet that comes along, you will find that, mercifully, they all blur together, leaving you with only one definite piece of information: french-fried potatoes are out. ~~Jean Kerr
And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. ~~Anais Nin

People who jump all over every trend, changing from one to another overnight, and then lose their minds at you when you didn't somehow just KNOW that they are "over" the last trend and on to the next. I'm sure we've all had those times when we invited the recently-turned gluten-free vegetarian relative over for dinner, only to be ranted at that they are now paleo keto and don't we know that all of those grains and legumes are just poisons?!?
People who think that "beautiful" is an accomplishment worth being proud of or praised - instead of an aesthetic that is an accident of birth / genetics / timing to fit in with current fashion. What you DO with your body and your brains is the accomplishment worth being proud of - not whether you are suitable as an ornament in the current appearance trend.
Biggest peeve is the world-wide abuse of the term "science", and ignorance of the what the scientific method was meant to be. Those in power and in marketing now use "science says" to achieve compliance without understanding, and it is more and more rare for anyone to question whether there is actual measurable and reproducible data, and whether the data set is of a representative size, or whether it is a matter of "9 out of 10 scientists say..." (and just never-you-mind about the fact that the "scientists" mentioned are all from completely different specialties).
To use one of my Mom's favourite old-fashioned phrases - I just have no patience for people who don't "use their heads for more than a hat-rack"....
Sir Terry Pratchett: "Science is not about building a body of known 'facts'. It is a method for asking awkward questions and subjecting them to a reality-check, thus avoiding the human tendency to believe whatever makes us feel good."
Runners who don't pay attention to the traffic lights or road signals.
Drivers who don't pay attention to traffic lights or road signals.
Cyclists who don't pay attention to traffic lights or road signals.
Pedestrians who don't pay attention to traffic lights or road signals because they are looking at their cell phone. This also applies to the cyclists I've seen riding and watching their phone as well as DRIVERS. It's illegal in MA to use a cell phone while driving, but I still see it everywhere.
Employees who don't wipe out the microwave after their lunch splattered the inside.

Mine are people who grunt, groan and slurp while they eat. It drives me ba na nas. I definitely couldn't watch any eating shows on the tubey place. They add moaning to their grunting, groaning and slurping.
People who are perfect and love to rub our noses in it. Remind us every chance they get how perfectly, perfect they are in their perfection.
So what are yours. This is your safe space to rant away!
