Ohh that's what I thought, that sounds cute... I wish there were small shops like that here.

Kori lol it's amazing how you remember all that stuff. At least in High school I didn't drive so I didn't have to deal with that mess... it's so weird to think that you know me since I was 19... I was a babyyyy, and I grew up to become a boring Texan lol :P I'm sorry.

They told me today that they're gonna pay me a little extra $$$ these weeks for working a different shift so... yay I guess :P
All the restaurants and stuff are open here but only for takeout. My coworkers and I had to work until 10pm today... we went out to get some Krispy Kreme doughnuts... we just ordered through the drive-thru and when I looked inside, I saw that none of the employees was wearing a mask or anything. The guy who gave us the donuts wasn't even wearing gloves and he was talking to us while holding the (open) box of donuts... emoticon So yup.Restaurants are definitely not taking any safety precautions, I'm not ordering any food ever again. Besides I saw SO many people outside :-/ no one cares!! we are all gonna die lol...

- Danny :)

Dairies are small grocery shops which focus on basic groceries, milk and cream and generally some confectionery.

Kris, what are Dairies? 😮

lol chameleons are so creepy and cute at the same time 💗

I'm not too worried about it anymore... As long as my coworkers behave we will all be safe, if not, well, there's not much I can do about it anyway. I'm more worried about my family in Mx, actually... most people don't seem to be taking it seriously at all, I don't completely blame them, there's a lot of misinformation. Mainly because of the stupid president who keeps saying that everything is ok and people can and should go out and hug and kiss and etc... wtf.... 🙄🙄🙄 ugh. My sister is sad because she's losing her last semester of highschool and she most likely won't have a graduation ceremony or party. They just started online classes this week and she totally hates it. I'm not sure why lol I think I would have loved that 😅😅

All restaurants including drive thru's and cafes have had to close down in NZ.
www.facebook.com/watch/?v=528048281478771

We can only get our food from supermarkets, or dairies, and strict hygiene and safety practices have been put into place. Dairies it is a one person in, and one person out system, and the counter etc. has to be sanitized between each customer. The supermarkets have every other checkout closed re spacing. Only so many people allowed in at a time and they have to stay a certain distance away from anyone else, and only 1 person per family unit is allowed in, UNLESS it is a solo parent who has to take their children, in which case the kids HAVE to stay with the parent.

The fact is, if people don't go out, they won't get infected. It is people throwing caution to the wind who are causing a lot more problems than their needs be. Kori and Danny, I really feel for you guys having to put your lives on the line, because that is what is happening. PLEASE stay safe.

Danny, that IS cute and sad.

Korii nooo :( please stay safe emoticon
I actually see more people outside now with the shelter in place thing. It's infuriating. They make it more dangerous for the people who don't even have the choice to stay home. Stores are still packed, now I can't even order online.

I saw this online yesterday on the Austin subreddit and I thought it was really cute (and sad)...

I've been trying to order food from local businesses at least once or twice a week... but between the order minimum, the delivery fee and the driver's tip it quickly adds up $$... Plus there really is no way to know if the restaurants are taking proper safety precautions, so I only order stuff that can be microwaved because in my mind, that kills the virus lol

yes , they're sick from covid 19. they're not in ICU , we hope they get well. they were both mid 40 and at least one of them I thought he was immortal, working always insane hours and zillions of patients. the medical staff is sick everywhere because everywhere in EU , I heard USA the same , they're not tested. only asians test a lot. second , they're forced to work even infected, denied a chance to heal from a mild form. what's better , have a doctor treat 5 patients and die or let him become healthy again and treat hundreds? maybe all the governments hoped that the medical staff will heal and won't need testing and equipment anymore , idk. I'm coughing too but it was very cold at work and I'm always coughing and allergic to the damned disinfectants and now I put on a mask soaked in it when I go home
so , Debs , I'm alive emoticon emoticon emoticon

Are the 2 sick Doctors sick from the virus? What a HUGE worry, especially for the poor cancer patients who are particularly vulnerable.

Our first day in lock-down was pretty good for most. Our numbers jumped again overnight. We now have 283 cases, but a few of them haven't been confirmed, but rather are 'probable' cases.

I saw this "Out of Spain's 40,000 confirmed coronavirus cases, 5400 — nearly 14 per cent — are medical professionals."

It really emphasizes how vulnerable you guys are at the forefront.
Kori - PLEASE be very VERY careful!!!

Kori - I would prefer the distance to be even more than that LOL!

We were at 205 this a.m. Still no-one serious/critical, altho' there have been about 14 people in hospital.

Our lock-down starts in about 1/4hr. We can only go out for walks, but by ourselves and have to keep our distance from others. We can only go on a bus or by car IF we are going to Medical, Pharmacy or Supermarket. The Supermarkets are only letting one person per house in, however if it is a solo parent, the children MUST stay with the parent. They are only letting in a few at a time, and limiting the number in the aisles. Every other checkout is closed, and the one that is open is covered with perspex for protection for the checkout operator and the customer. Those who are classed as 'essential service' employees have been given a letter by work stating who they work for and what they do, so that if they are stopped, they can show the cops the letter. I guess the rest will be booked.

I've heard a few people who have made similar comments about it being political. I think they have used their heads for toilet paper for too long!

The Pharmacy phoned my daughter to tell her that my g/son's epipen had arrived, so she went down to collect it. There was a very long queue down the road for people wanting to get in both pharmacies. They came and called her name, which pissed the others off because she was near the back of the queue. She said when she got to the door, they met her with full hazmat clothing, sprayed her all over then she had to use the hand sanitizer. They then allowed her inside. She had to stand back from the counter and the staff member put it down for her, then stood back, then she had to go and pick it up. Before she left the pharmacy she had to use the sanitizer again.

Kris , the "distance" is over 4 meters. there were people in buses who caught it at 4m from the infected person. there were closer persons who didn't get it though.we started even milder than you,now today we had 186 new cases , Belgium about 500. we have military orders now , starting tomorrow going out is strictly restricted to work (who still works), shopping basic products close to home, going to pharmacy and probably taking supplies to elders. people over 65 yo are forbidden to go out at all. 2 weeks they say. we'll see , probably it will be extended after Easter.I doubt people will stay far from families otherwise. churches are closed , the services are online and TV, priests can only go at home to sick people. no groups larger than 3 people except families that live together (not on the streets though )
I had a patient today who thinks it's something "political" and this happened so people become mean to each other emoticon emoticon
as for medical staff , we're pretty screwed emoticon . well , I somehow against logic think we'll survive , mom too emoticon . oh btw , weddings, baptize , funerals , only 8 people are allowed
P.S. it seems elders can go out 2 hours/day , not sure yet.only for groceries and doctor

My daughter and her family DID come out today. TJ's Mum and Dad came too, however we all kept our distance from each other, and no coughing or sneezing was to be had.

There are now confirmed, 155 people infected and a handful of probables. All those with mortgages who are affected by the virus can get a 6 month stand down from paying their mortgages. That in itself is going to help a LOT of people on reduced incomes. The Government has put a good package together to help those whose jobs are affected, and as well as that, those of us on much lower incomes and qualify for Winter Energy Payment, that payment is doubling.

I actually signed up for Instagram last night. I signed up for Twitter quite some time ago, so now I feel like I am pretty much in the 20th Century LOL!

Stay safe, everyone. You are ALL very special!!!

Hugs,
Kris xxx

Anti-vaxers are NOW finding out what a world without vaccines can and will be like! I remember when the Measles epidemic was going pretty hard-out in Samoa, killing a lot of their little kids, and some older people, the anti-vaxers had the audacity to ENCOURAGE the families of young children to NOT vaccinate their kids. They even got one of the Kenedy's involved in itt emoticon The Samoan Government ended up putting everyone into lock-down and nurses went door to door vaccinating those not vaccinated. It was only then that the epidemic subsided.

We are now at 102 cases, and altho most have brought it back from overseas, a couple are the result of community spread infection.

My daughter phoned me quite concerned today, because it is my birthday in a few days, and she is adamant that they want to come out tomorrow after her work (caregivers only to prepare stuff that their adult mentally disabled charges can do at home) or during the day on Wednesday before the lock-down.

I was waiting to see which of my parents would be the first to call and check if I'm still alive . My dad won by far. My mom hasn't even called or texted me at all. That emoticon

He's been calling me almost every day to make sure I'm still alive. Shocking huh? So don't worry about me guys. He lives 30 minutes away. If I catch it I'll simply give him a call so he can come over and shoot me in the head.

Danny ,don't be that scared. there are zillions of people who don't get sick , or have a mild, no symptoms illness . if you respect the isolation measures you can limit it even if you have it. I saw a pic somewhere with the maths. one sick person living as usual infects 406 in a month.if 1/2 of limiting contacts is respected then to 15.3/4 limiting contacts(and hygiene of course ) then only 2.5 people.
I also have that kind of morons here, I just told one to come work volunteer in the hospital if there's no danger.problem with mom is solved , it snowed last night.but now idk if I can walk to work , my foot is still sore emoticon

79 here already 😭😭😭

And I just found out that one of my coworkers is a stupid anti-vaxxer who believes this whole thing is some sort of hoax... Another coworker believes China created the virus and released it to sell the cure to everyone (which according to him, they aleady have). I just feel like it's just a matter of time before we all get infected thanks to these idiots...

I talked to some friends today, many of them are really worried they're gonna get laid off soon. This is so surreal lol it's like... I don't know. Kinda feels like we're in some sort of... weird... reality show... 😥

Kori, it seems like all of a sudden everyone wants to go for a walk lol it's the same here, I've seen a lot of kids playing outside, a lot of people walking their dogs... it's strange :P. My bf usually rides his bike on the weeknds but today he saw a million people walking outside so he just came back inside.

Kris, that's so sad, my first fish died because the heater stopped working during winter and I didn't notice on time. I felt so guilty :(...

Debs, lol Fish have personalities and are smarter than you might think lol. The fun part really is getting new stuff and plants for the tank. I just bought some "watter lettuce" that is supposed to get delivered tomorrow... yea I never thought I'd be into this either lol but I can't have a dog atm so...
and sorry, I swear I won't post scary stuff anymore. I just keep reading about some of the really bad cases and ugh.. lol I'm sorry, I'm scared now!!!. You just stay home and you'll be safe there... and disinfect all the deliveries you get...

Debs - that FB Group looks like it would be a cool one to join.

Danny - I love Pato's colouring. GORGEOUS! Many years ago my Dad used to have a heap of tropical fish ..... until the power went off one night when he was asleep. They were all dead in the morning because the water was too cold emoticon

NZ now has 66 positive coronavirus. It was VERY quiet in my little village this weekend. . Saturday and Sunday are usually the noisiest days with extra people because of a large number of holiday homes.

Kori - That is sad about the Pharmacist. It really emphasizes how quick to infect and dangerous this virus is.

It's not just disinfect like crazy. It is paying attention to ensuring that you are using a clean cloth each time and sanitizing it after or discarding it. It is about ensuring that any surfaces you touch with your hands .... light switches, taps, door and drawer handles, loo seats and flush buttons etc. are all disinfected each time they are used if sharing with others.

When exploring the internet, I came across this:

Debs, nope, sorry, I don't see it :P that beard really suits him, though. lol... orange guy? speak for yourself. MY president is over there saying he's protected against the coronavirus because he always carries a four-leaf-clover and a 2 dollar bill 😒😒😒... yay...

Kori, ugh yea I honestly can't believe there's still people who believe that the media is exaggerating and that it really isn't that serious 🙄🙄 I still have friends and coworkers going out and meeting with people as if nothing happened. They're gonna get us all infected 😭😭😭

Ugh :( ... and I keep reading stuff like this:
scmp.com/week-asia/health-environment/arti
cle/3076222/coronavirus-it-was-my-inte
stines-were-being-ripped-out

...and it's like 😫😫...

*sigh* anyway... did you guys (Debs... maybe Pelos) get Animal crossing? :( Amazon sent me an email saying my order got delayed basically because they're prioritizing "household staples, medical supplies and other high demand products"... which totally makes sense but I've been ordering all sorts of dumb stuff and it was all delivered on time... maybe I should stop ordering dumb stuff, though. I've been kind of stress-online-shopping lately. I got a new fishyyy btw :P

His name is Pato...

we just got circulation restricted but unfortunately I don't think it will be enough, zillions of morons went to picnics today ._. .most people say that the army should act and keep everyone inside. even Italians still don't stay inside, if I understood well , they caught 9000 persons on the streets today.

52 with the virus now.

Kori - no I won't be. Given the big jump overnight, and given that it now affects NZ top to bottom and in-between, I'll be staying put, apart from a Visit to the Medical Centre on Tuesday. IF the Flu Vaccine is in when I go over, I'm going to see if I can get it. I know it doesn't help specifically with this virus, however because I get asthma, it is best to ensure that I don't get knocked by something else, AND THEN get knocked by the Corona-Virus. Mind you, with a lot less people circulating in general, I would imagine that the normal flu might not be as prevalent this winter. Less people will be going out spreading it all around.

I don't get people buying water (except those of us on Tank water and whose tanks happen to run dry). Remember a couple years ago some tests were done on the bottled water in NZ - including well known French and Italian water. Apart from being very expensive for the imported ones, and over the top for the others, in most cases tap water was better for us - whether it was mass-treated in town supplies, or from our own tanks.

Thanks guys. I've kept getting up to go out to bring her in for a feed, tonight, then remember she won't be doing that any more emoticon

Danny - the guy will MORE than know he should mind his own business hahaha! My daughter was with me and was NOT impressed and in quite a loud voice, and only about 5 feet from him told me that we should not have to justify ourselves to him or anybody else and that it was none of their business. I must admit, she was in the middle of an anxiety attack re everyone around and the pandemonium and it can make her quite terse LOL!

Oh wow... freezers are sold out?? emoticon lol omg... I hope your g/son recovers soon, that sounds painful...

lol that rude guy should mind his own business, what the hell...?? emoticon I hope at least now he knows he shouldn't go around making assumptions...

And yea... I guess I'll keep packing my own lunch. I didn't bring anything today so I ended up not eating. Our managers have been just "throwing" food at us lol probably because they feel guilty for pretty much letting us all die out here while they are all nice and safe in their PJs at home lol. Sorry for being so dramatic :P I can't help it. It was a nice gesture, though. I'm just grumpy because the billing people ruined it. What are they even doing there?? I'm sure billing people are 100% able to work from home, ugh... stupid people... emoticon

Yeh - people are bloody stupid, and unfortunately a lot haven't learned to use the brain in their head .... if they've got one. I would be inclined to take my own food. That way you KNOW that it is safe.

My daughter and I had lunch out today. We were the only ones sitting in the enclosed, outside area, so it was good. The cafe doesn't have much seating capacity which even better :-)

I got a heap of groceries for my older g/son. He had his large kidney stone removed yesterday as a day surgery patient. He isn't allowed to lift anything much for a while, and as he isn't entitled to any sick-pay or holiday pay re, altho' employed by a boss, is classed as a contractor. I had ONE trolley and in it were things for my daughter and for me, and stuff for my g/son, including nappies, which take up a bit of room. One dude was f'n rude - he looked at me and commented about 'stocking up' - so I just quietly told him the bulk weren't mine, and I was shopping for others, including someone who has just had surgery, and he has a family. His next question was asking if it was related to corona-virus emoticon There was very little meat in that supermarket, apart from the expensive cuts, which I refuse to buy, and not much in a lot of things. A lot of the shelves were empty. I did manage to get him a couple packs of loo paper. I then went to the other supermarket and again - very little meat and ALL the cheaper red meats were gone there, too, but I managed to get a little chicken, ham and cooked roast beef.

I had been planning on giving my g/son a small freezer for his birthday which is soon, so went to the big appliance retailer in my town - NO FREEZERS. I was told that they had been sold out in the country. I then went up to his town and called in at their electrical appliance store. Again - no freezers in the country due to corona-virus, and they didn't know when more would be coming in, but it could be quite a while. DUMB-ARSE Fisher & Paykel, a major NZ appliance manufacturer for local and export markets. The pricks took the assembly line off shore TO ASIA!!!! Now we can't get our own stuff.

Anyway, apart from all that, my little Spotty got put down this a.m. She went peacefully, and wasn't stressed before she got the sedative. She is now buried (with the help of my neighbour re finishing digging a very hard hole) next to my little dog, Scruffy, who was put down 4 years ago tomorrow.

My son's Producer has a friend in LA who has it, and he said it felt like ground up glass in his lungs. He obviously has it a bit worse than most of them who say that they didn't feel unwell at all.

I feel like the reported symptoms keep changing but many sources say that some patients did experience nasal congestion, though.

Lol omg... well, I work in a medical lab so we wear a lab coat, gloves and safety glasses all the time but still... staying 2m away from people is pretty much impossible... today they brought lunch boxes for everyone and the people who dont work inside the lab (billing people and stuff) were opening all the boxes to see what they had inside and touching everything while talking and ugh, people are so stupid and gross. I'm staying away from that food 🙄🙄🙄

sneezing is not a covid19 symptom.it's sore throat, fever (over 38C), coughing, not sure about sore muscles but I'll look in the papers at work. some say only dry cough , some say productive cough and not breathing well (not sure about the medical word). wear a mask , over the nose . and gloves
use alcohol disinfectant on the gloves and all surfaces where you work. keep a 2 m distance from other people. don't shake hands , don;t kiss
use disinfectant on hands when you leave work. make a station at the house entrance for groceries and things that you bring from outside. wash your hands, disinfect, put things in place , wash again, wash and disinfect where you had the things from town. throw the gloves, disinfect etc lol
change your clothes at work , don't mix those with the other ones and at home put your used clothes on a surface that you can disinfect.
it's very tiring lol
wash before and after anything. make sure you don't touch your face and hair.
wash separately the work clothes.
not sure about your work clothes , I do that because I work in a hospital.maybe you don't need that much wariness
P.S. you might lose weight doing that , it's a lot of work emoticon
oh , Kris, don't go in any hospital if you're not dying emoticon

Kris, yea I was surprised when you told us that your surgery was scheduled for April 8th, I'm sorry it got canceled, I guess it's for the best. I hope things get back to normal so you can get it rescheduled soon :-/

Kori, she's finally staying home but ugh... well, kind of, today she will go to her chiropractor. But she promised she will stay home after that :-/ she seems to be more worried about us than herself. At first I was only worried about them but now I'm starting to get a little scared of getting infected myself... especially since I still have to work.... they're trying to take some preventive measures at work but it's not nearly enough, and it's a very small lab with a lot of people so it does make me feel a little paranoid.

I have never in my life had allergies but I've been sneezing a lot for like 5 days now, I know it's just allergies because I don't feel sick but lol what a great moment to start having allergies... I get all scared everytime I sneeze lol.

Debs, Animal Crossing got delayed again lol :'( did you see? I'm dying.

Just as I suspected, I got a call from the hospital this a.m. My surgery is cancelled for the time being re cornoa-virus, to be rescheduled at a later date. I can understand it, and at least it doesn't put me at more risk. Normally I wouldn't be too bothered, but I have asthma and being 66 in a couple weeks, it puts me more at risk than if I were younger and/or healthier.

The only thing I'm annoyed about is the mass hysteria revolving around bread and loo paper and the alcohol-based sanitizers. Because of some people's greed and selfishness, it is leaving those who just want/need to do a normal shop and have to live paycheck to paycheck with nothing.

lol , just yesterday I said that I miss the communist party very badly. things were working those times . the state was paying for all of the expenses of the public health. health insurance systems are a plague, they don't work in situations of this size. at least we have a public system , you don't.
beg your mom to stay at home and don't expose herself. I still don't think the virus is that dangerous , the issue is that too many people are sick on the same time. I went shopping 2 days in a row
the only thing missing was bleach and dried yeast :D . but I found another disinfectant for laundry, that should do too
P.S. I'm much more annoyed and hysterical than brave emoticon

lol Debs, my bf keeps telling me that emoticon but I'm not THAT kind of healthcare worker lol I just want to stay home... Kori is braver than the troops, though :P
Did you get your groceries?

My bf warned me that there were no grocery deliveries available until March 29th so I just scheduled my next delivery for that day...

I finally convinced my mom to stay home because she kept going grocery shopping every day (not panic shopping, she just normally goes everyday lol) and from what she told me, you can still find pretty much everything there except for hand sanitizer, face masks and that kind of stuff. So I guess people aren't going as crazy everywhere... well, no, my theory is that in this city, a lot of people have the money to buy, I don't know, 6 months worth of groceries and TP and hand soap without any problem... but in MX most people would think twice before spending $300 on TP... I don't know, that's just my theory. Because seriously, guys, I'm not exaggerating, stores are empty. The most popular grocery store here has been doing an incredible job restocking and trying to limit panic buying but still, my friends keep sending me this kind of pics

I'm not worried because I;m used to not having any food at home lol... I've been training my whole life for this moment :P

Kori, I hate that here a lot of people are using this as anti communism/socialism (and pretty much pro Trump) propaganda. As if somehow this was caused by socialism in the US... like wtf...

I grew up in communism, our dictator president wanted to pay off all the country's debts so starting when I was about 10 yo , everything we made was exported. stores were empty , we had tickets for bread , 1 pack of butter/month , you could stay a day and a night in a queue to buy sugar (IF they supplied it ), we only found chicken like pigeons , 4 in a bag of 1 kilo, that 1 or 2 times /month eventually. there were no decent clothes either. that's why I hate hand made stuff so badly lol. and so on. we didn't die , didn't starve. toilet paper was also an issue lol ,we were exporting furniture. now we ruin the forests and export wood. the toilet paper felt like a close relative of sand paper :D

I'm not bothered because I ALWAYS have tons of food here - generally enough to last at least two months with some things and a few more months down the track with others and even after 3-4 months I would still be able to feed myself with a balanced meal. I'm not too bothered about bread, either. I often go days without eating it, and mostly have it toasted with avocado spread on it to get my healthy fat in. I've got tons of various flours here - buckwheat, chickpea, brown rice, white rice, all purpose gluten free flour, fine-ground polenta which is good as a course flour to things like pizza bases and ground almonds which is a good flour substitute for some things, too. I was a cafe cook for a few years and then went to a sole charge Rest Home cook so tweaking things and making up recipes out of nothing are a doddle for me. I've always got loads of loo paper - usually enough for at least a couple months, too. New Zealand makes nearly all of our loo paper so it's not like we are relying on other countries. I just don't get why people are going C.R.A.Z.Y.!!! Mind you, some of those people are likely people who HAVE to go to the supermarket a number of times a week because they have never learned to stock their pantry properly and totally run out. I've actually seen totally bare pantries in one of my jobs, going into people's homes as a caregiver. It makes you wonder how the hell they live.

O.K. - I guess it is the same as Doctors "On Call" here.

Today NZ went from 12 cases to 20 cases overnight. All re people bringing it in rather than having contracted it here.

I got my groceries today. One supermarket there was plenty of toilet paper (NOT rationed and on special) and UHT milk (incl. alternative milk), but not bread except for plenty of Gluten Free bread. There were only little patches in the aisles that were empty. In the other supermarket I went to to buy my low carb potatoes on special and a few other things that were cheaper than the other one, there was NO toilet paper (there was a notice that it was rationed to 2x per person), NO bread, very little in the way of canned veggies/beans etc. and very little UHT milk. Fortunately I was able to get my usual UHT Soy MIlk (diagnosed dairy food intolerance) but that only left 2 on the shelf. There were lots of lengthy empty patches. Paractamol was off the shelves. I was fortunate in that I was able to buy a box of 100 from the Pharmacy. My daughter had been unable to get plain stuff and can't have the other 2 the supermarket offered because they are ill-advised with the medication she is on. She gets really bad migraines and the meds for that sometimes need a little extra kick.

I got 2 new tyres for my car today. I decided was best to do it now than wait a couple weeks and find everything has had to be shut down and I can't do it.

I don't know what that's called, Kori, but it sounds like hell emoticon... I'm sorry :( You will need at least another panties backpack! lol

They issued a mandatory 'shelter in place' order in the SF bay area... which is where the company I work for is located but they emailed us saying that we're exempted because we deliver healthcare services emoticon so we are never gonna close!!

Austin went from 3 cases to 17 in just like 3-4 days :-/ so yea... I hope it doesn't get too ugly :(

Debs, don't cook anything. I've learned to accept that I just don't like cooking and that's okay. The most complex thing I cook is white rice lol and maybe scrambled eggs one in a while... Most of those things are really easy to cook/prepare. Those pics are nice :) but please PLEEEEASE stay away from the zombies.

- Danny :)

idk how it's called in other countries. the doctor works his normal hours, 7-8 h, then after those he's at home and is called from home by the ER when they consider they need you. when I was still working those , it was about 2 -3 times during the day and at least 1-3 times at night. with only 2 doctors it's either 1 day one of them and the other after that, or one week each , alternating. no idea what happens when one gets vacation. when I stopped doing this we were 4 and it was exhausting.with 2 it's suicide.

What's the "home calling guard?"

I can remember as a young kid we used cut up newspaper if we had run out of loo paper. I guess we would have had black skid marks instead of brown LOL! (YUCK .... WHO SAID THAT??? emoticon )

I remember my Dad used to limit us to 2 squares of toilet paper per visit to the loo, when we were little. He maintained that if they could do that during the war (he was in Egypt, Crete and Casino in the Medical Corp) then we could too. He never mentioned how they got on re dysentery LOL! Also, the toilet paper 60 years ago was a lot stronger than now.

There are some very good bread recipes that do NOT use yeast. Here is a recipe I sent to my son because he found the yeast had gone, too. I've made a very similar recipe to this, using milk and vinegar, and it was yumm.

I'm going into town tomorrow. I've booked in to get my car tyres checked - I'm pretty sure that at least 2 will need replacing. I'm buying some more seedlings to plant out. I generally concentrate on Silverbeet (Swiss chard) this time of year, but I will likely be planting some carrots, parsnips and Swedes as well.

You guys are coming to the warmer weather. There is no reason why you can't plant a tomato or courgette/zucchini in a large pot on a deck if you have one. Apart from anything else, they provide a point of interest, strange as it may seem.

you don't need to cook anything , the supplies are only for 2-3 weeks. if no one shoots you , you won't die.
I forgot water if tap water is no good. bread stays very well in the freezer, just slice it before freezing it. what's with the toilet paper hysteria? any napkin , paper handkerchief etc will do. and nobody buys those.in fact any paper can help.when I was little, my grandma had the toilet in the yard and everyone used magazines paper, it was a shortage of basically everything in the stores lol. I already survived there's nothing to buy in the store crisis lol.
Kris, you're a treasure, I forgot about batteries, if the heater dies we're screwed , it's basically winter cold here. I keep veggies in paper bags or packed in paper towels in the fridge , they rot slower.
I'm very upset , because of a stupid article in a paper they reinstalled the home calling guard with my colleagues, 2 doctors. they can't protest because of the emergency state and I think this will kill us before the virus emoticon
please don't disappear from here , I need some normality and you still have it. emoticon
oh , and the person who suggested and did that is"my best friend " emoticon
