Ups & Downs

Monday, January 14, 2008

This morning I got up an extra 45 minutes early to do a cardio DVD. And made a Eggbeaters/spinach omlette for breakfast. Yea!
This afternoon I got too hungry and ate too much for dinner. Boo!

I'm sticking with my goal of getting up early 5 days this week to do cardio before starting my workday. And I've learned that I need to schedule an Outlook appointment for snacks.

I got busy, tense, and didn't look up long enough to eat a snack. A 4:00 meeting ran late, and I was really hungry when I left work. Stopped at my favorite Mexican restaurant for soup . . . and ended up eating tortilla chips on the way home. And instead of eating just the soup, I ate 2 tortillas with the soup. Good grief - this was a big meal, and not well-thought out. I should have had soup and veggies to stay on track.

Since I'm working hard to pack a nutritious lunch and eat my 2 fruits and 2 veggies each day, I need to find ways to curb my impulsive behavior. I live my life according to Outlook, so I may as well schedule my snacks according to Outlook. Lesson learned.

I've read every word of all your posts from end to beginning, since I read them backwards. What an amazing person you are and so multi-talented with your writing skills, your perception of the pitfalls involving your family, your job, and your need for time to do your work outs and walking.

And, then there are your multiple hearth challenges. You are strong to not cave in. I admire the way your analyze the situation of each pitfall and make wise decisions how to handle future temptations.

I found myself laughing at several of your discriptions. You will go far, you will attain your goals, and I predict your book will be a best seller. You are planning on publishing a book, aren't you?

You are an inspiration to me in the way you plan early morning time to exercise. I am not a morning person. I might still be up when you get up.

We all goof up at times especially when life interferes and we get "too hungry." However you summed it up quite well on my blog:
"In the big picture, your day will become a mere blip! " Thanks for the encouragement. Keep up the good work!
