24 Hours and NO caffeine!

Monday, September 03, 2007

Well, it is officially now 24 hours since I have had a drop of caffeine. My goal wasn't actually to go without it. I am just trying to cut out the sweet tea. But I realized a little while ago that I haven't had any caffeine since yesterday.

For me, that is a milestone because I dont think that I have ever NOT had caffeine on a daily basis. I am addicted to it like it's crack. But so far, it's been 24 hours and I haven't had any.

So I guess I will see if I can go another 24 hours and see what happens. It really wasn't that bad today. I didn't think about it much at all. So maybe I can keep it up for another 24.

wow I am so impressed you have done this and gotten no headaches! I tried to quit coffee cold turkey and thought I was just going to die. I had to taper off a little slower, when I realized I hadn't had a cup of coffee and it was noon - I decided to just go for the long haul. It took me 4 days of mild headaches but I'm cured! :) Now if I want a cup a coffee I have one, but I can go all week without it if I want with no headaches. I am sooo proud of you!! Keep that tea out of sight and off your mind.

I think that I will miss my sweet tea. But I know that I need to sacrifice it to lose the weight. It's still weird to me. As a kid, we drank unsweet tea all the time. But as an adult, I think that I have to have it sweetened. Spoiled I guess. :o) But I think after a few days, it won't be so tough.

    Thanks lynn and shirley!

Good luck! There are a lot of ways to get caffeine but no good substitutes for sweet tea, are there?
