I am still feeling a lot of emotional distress over the Sparkpeople decision to throw everything here under the bus. I don't find Spark360 useful at this point. Maybe they will develop more over the coming months but right now....no.

I have decided to start a facebook "Determined Daisies" group. There is an effort being made to gather us all on myfitnesspal, which as far as sites similar to this one seems best. I am becoming a little more comfortable with it as I try to come to grips with Sparkpeople going away. The MFP, has a community page and some sparkpeople have already been there trying to regroup.

Here is the link to the Determined Daisies (named after my 5% challenge team). When you find the page, hit like and I will send you the invitation. We got this y'all!!!! I have it set up as my personal training site, but not to worry I'm not going there. Despite working my bootee off getting certified through NASM and TRX, I really don't want to go that route. I will share some stuff, but that's what I've been doing in my blogs all along.

Today, I commit to finding the best site to meet my needs and to move forward with my health and wellness, because gosh darn it I am worth the effort . I will even at 71 yr. of age make it to my goal weight and be a healthy, happy person. Nothing to stop me! I feel a little sorry for Sparkpeople that they won't be able to appreciate my journey once they close down. LOL

Non-FB user here. Each of us now has the opportunity to spread our individual spark to others.

I am considering committing to a 16-month program called 'The Journey to Heart Health' developed by my new Cardiologist (not met yet) that concentrates on the interplay of heart disease/diabetes/obesity. I need the accountability and weekly in-person visits will do that. Whatever tracking system they use will likely be my new one.

SparkPeople has been an unique community that I am grateful for. I think the universe is realigning by eliminating a major enjoyable time-eater for me to finally get my German genealogy book written after 25+ years of research.

I do not want FB. I am still exploring options. I thought Sparks America was too competitive. I will take opinions. I will miss Sparks since I have been on since 2007. TY

71, my lovely friend, is a mere sign of a depth of experience (said by one who knows.) I shall miss SP greatly too, but I believe friendships have been made that will endure if we link in other ways. Keep health and forward momentum in mind. x

I feel the same way as you as the closing of SparkPeople. Thanks for sharing a link to your FB page. I have sent in my like. Please keep us posted if you find a pretty good free site besides myfitnesspal as I agree that SaprkAmerica 360 Is not good at all right now.

Good luck with MFP. I just saw an app called fat secret that is similar to sparkpeople.
