I really want to start summer on a good foot this year. It is very busy around here right now, but I am feeling way better these days, so I am able to do way more. I got a ton of healthy groceries yesterday so we are pretty well stocked up right now but we are having a stuffed crust pepperoni pizza as a treat for Fritzy's summer vacation celebration party. I am doing my best to get on a healthy track now but that is a lot easier because we have so much healthy food now and I am cooking again and preparing healthy meals and snacks and keeping them on hand. It is a lot easier to perform healthy habits these days because I am healthier overall and not in so much pain so being more active etc., is easier and right now I am working on setting up the healthiest atmosphere in our apartment that I can.
Eating Healthy Food: I am doing my best to track my food and measure everything and am trying to organize all my Tupperware and get a little bit more new stuff. I have a lot of Tupperware already but I do want to get a bit more. I want a few new pots and pans, too, and a some new measuring cups and spoons since some of mine has gotten lost. I want to get a food scale for sure as I still haven't gotten around to purchasing one and the one I did have got water spilled on it and so it broke and currently only have a very small cheap one. I want to get some other various kitchen doodads so that I can really be savvy in the kitchen and I want to get to the store and really spend some time in the produce section next week and take Fritzy with me so he can pick out some of his own food. Right now I have tons of apples and lettuce and some potatoes and onions and a few sliced cucumbers but that's really it for fresh produce. So I need to make a special trip to focus on produce. This grocery trip was really about getting stocked up on meats for the month which I did.
Exercise: I'm back on track with fitness again and in a good place with exercise. I'm not going too hard right now but keeping it pretty therapeutic. My sciatica is acting up lately from doing a lot of heavy lifting lately so exercise has to be kind of minimal but I've been enjoying what I'm doing. I did some low impact stuff this morning. I'm burning way more calories these days, though, as I'm a lot more active throughout the day. It's caused a huge spike in my hunger, though, and my calories kind of went through the roof lately. I had a huge intake in sodium lately as I was eating ham so got really bloated and saw a huge rise in the scale, but I'm not super worried about it as my calorie intake and sodium intake was far higher than normal for about a week and that should start to normalize and I should see the scale going back down. I have been much more active these days and am starting to exercise more as well, so I should see my weight going down again and heading in the right direction.
Meditation: I've been so busy lately that I haven't had much quiet time for meditation or reflection. I plan to reestablish my mindfulness practice and try to dedicate more time to this.
Drinking Water: Yesterday wasn't a super great day for water as I was so busy and not home most of the day. My water drinking habits are better these days, though.
Non-Scale Victory: My biggest non-scale victory lately is being more active in general. More than just doing my workouts, I'm more active throughout the day. I'm able to do that now that I don't have so much pain and that is a big accomplishment for me and helps a lot with mood, too.
Self-Esteem: My self esteem has been high despite the weight gain. I know it's just bloat and being able to be more active has really helped my self esteem.
Sleep: Sleep does need some work. I need to establish a regular schedule. I'm not sleeping as much these days, but I do need to have a regular bedtime and waketime.
Rewarding Myself: Today I rewarded myself with organizing things in my kitchen and keeping things stress-free!
