We made it through 3rd with Joey. Whew! It was quite a year. I have not quite figured out his issues. I decided that he could be Autistic. We did some evaluations and determined that we believe he is. He doesn't get treated that way at school. Not much patience on that front. Poor kid. He hates school and learning because it goes fast but at the same time, on his speed and time, he can out answer 90% of kids his age in the entire country. Its crazy!
Besides play therapy I am adding ABA therapy, and this summer he will have tutoring and lots of swim time. Its one of three things he loves. Water, people and electronics. LOL.
Josh and I are good. For a while we weren't but I'm trying to figure out how to be better. We have different parenting styles. He likes order and control and I'm more loose. I have to be with a kid like Joey or I'd be angry all day. Josh is learning to adjust. Its not like we want Joey to be bad. He doesn't always understand context. Joey is very low in confidence. Its something I hope he can learn to have with help.
Joey and I both struggle with our weight now. I think Joey can improve if he is willing to try other foods and he is maturing in that direction. I want to walk with him more because we would like to plan a Disney trip in 2022 but we are all in not so good shape. I would hate for him to miss out on rides because we are all too tired.
My health issues have been a literal pain in the butt. I had a lump on my left cheek and I mean butt cheek. We thought it was a lipoma. Turns out it was a fistula. I have had 3 surgeries so far with a fourth one later in the summer. I had a hysterectomy. I recovered ok from that one. We just can't seem to figure out why my colon defect won't heal. They think possibly Crohns but I am in the middle of testing. So far I have had a colonoscopy, and an MRI and they didn't show anything. Next will be a small bowel test.
Still on beta blockers so far for my SVT and they help me manage.
Finally got some bills paid off in 2020, only to need a new AC. We had to get a new A/C like the whole system. We also got a new vehicle. We love it! We need a new roof and we're trying to save for Disney. No pressure. LOL. And I paid for Joey to have tutoring. We have some savings. That will help a little bit.
I see a therapist also. I think I deal with some mild PTSD. I've just been overwhelmed for a long time and its made me very paranoid. I try to be positive for my husband's sake. We'd lost a lot of confidence in our ability to handle things in 2019 but we're trying.
Hope all of you are well. :)
