Maskless Gruene Market Days... and More!
Saturday, May 15, 2021
Our local homeowners association held its meeting this morning at a close by restaurant, and since I decided to walk I managed to browse through Gruene Market Days, which is an outdoors craft fair that is back to its regular monthly schedule after a COVID hiatus.... and since the CDC has recommended lifting of mask sanctions for those who have received the vaccine, there were very few masks being worn.... it was so nice to see smiles again!
Anyhow, the HOA meeting was extremely informative, and a great opportunity to see neighbors I have missed for months... sitting on an outdoor deck made it easy to appreciate nature better, too, and the 15 minute walk home as a rain front began to trickle in was a perfect opportunity to examine the spring tree canopy just in case the rain began in earnest.... somehow the birdsong was louder, the vegetation was greener, and the air felt fresher...
Made it home with only a few drops falling on my head, but it felt SO satisfying to look back at the day and know that being around people is not going to be such a hard transition, that even though knuckleheads may remain knuckleheads, sensible people can be sensitive to each other, and respect others’ viewpoints.
Later I retrieved 4 boxes of law books that I’ve been challenged to turn into furniture....
these are the projects that are inspiring me right now, this law book chandelier
And the law book Shaker table
So many law books, so many law book projects!
