Ready for Tomorrow!

Saw doctor finally yesterday for what I think has been an episode of kidney stones. The Urgent Care Clinic I saw on April 14th never came up with a definite diagnosis, but I'm glad to say I'm feeling better and better. Doc yesterday was fine with me walking tomorrow's 5K. The plan is if I start hurting I will turn and slowly walk down the course. I'm to get an x-ray today, too, to see if any further treatment is warranted.
Description of tomorrow's event: "The 10th Annual Carillon Classic 5k Run and Walk will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Bok Tower Gardens, Lake Wales, FL. The Carillon Classic 5K Run and Walk features what many consider Florida’s most challenging 5K course where runners experience elevation changes and a variety of running surfaces, including paved roads, clay roads, grass, gravel and mulch trails. Bok Tower Gardens challenging course starts atop “Iron Mountain”, which is one of the highest points on the Florida peninsula, runners will hear music from the famed Singing Tower carillon and get a close up look at rare species of plants, beautiful gardens and citrus groves, and several new garden areas and attractions."
When I was a kid they advertised Bok Tower as the highest point in Florida, but now days they just say one of the highest. I suspect measurements have become more accurate. I don't think the landscape, or I guess the word would be topography, has changed. But regardless, this is an uphill 5K almost the whole way so if I can do it without pain I will celebrate!
I'm going with a friend this eve to pick up our bibs. She wants company for the 35 minutes ride. She's made us a reservation at a nice Italian restaurant, although heavens knows I don't need to carb load to walk a 5K. I know how to use a box and bring a lot of it home! It does feel like I'm playing hooky not cooking supper for hubby. I offered to fix him a nice lunch, but he said that is what frozen dinners are for. So, we can go with that.
Anyway, I am so glad to be feeling better and excited to participate in a fun walk tomorrow!
