Snow in April?

Tuesday, April 20, 2021

We are out camping again. This time at Beaver Damn site campground which is near Eureka Springs, Arkansas. We have been to this campground many times over the years. There are two loops to this campground; we are in the first one. The second one is much prettier with the tall, tall pine trees. We’re in the first one so we can be hooked up to water. We’ll be here for quite a while then will move on to Kansas.

We walked the entire campground yesterday which turned out to be 1.03 miles, plus we got out for smaller walks with the puppers. Today it is very cold with snow arriving soon. We did get out with the puppers to do their business before it starts. Otherwise I did abs and ST inside the camper.

One of the reasons we like this campground is because it’s within walking distance of the river so we can go fly fishing. However that won’t happen today. I don’t do well fishing in the cold.

Only camped in a camper one weekend at a BSA Spring Camporee and waking to the smell of bacon was heavenly. The camper was owned by the Camping director and he fixed breakfast for the Chaplin that drove an hour each way and since he had to get back to his church breakfast for him was ready by 5:30 and the scouts didn't have to start getting up until 6 and ate after service. The Chaplin would lead a couple hymns and then give a 10-15 minute sermon, unlike his 45 minute church sermons! The kids really liked him and many would come visit him until he had to leave.

I've been to Eureka Springs, nice mountain drive and cute little shops. It's been at least ten years since I was there. Hope it warms up soon for you and the pups. emoticon

Amazing! Never remember camping in active snow but did camp once where it was 0F inside the tent. Don't enjoy camping in mud, the outside rug doesn't get all the mud after several trips and the inside rug gets dirty as do my socks.

We can't control Mother Nature so RVer's have to adapt to our surroundings. Sorry you are experiencing such winter type weather near the end of April! Hopefully, it will get better soon!
