My Babies

Thursday, April 15, 2021

I always call my daughters "baby" when talking with them. Sherry turned 39 on April 1. Sarah will be 41 on Sunday. No, it's not going to happen...I will always say baby. They are my very special of utmost importance babies and will always be so.

I was speaking to my doctor on the phone right after I had my nose surgery. He sounded so very stressed and out of it, so much so that I commented about it to my hubby. When I went to the office, I asked the receptionist if he was any better. No. His daughter is dying of ALS. Being from Detroit, I knew right away what this is. It's Lou's Gehrig's Disease - he was a Detroit Tiger who had it. It's now better known by his name. All the muscles slowly quit working, including the ones that help you breathe, help pump your blood, etc. It's a painful, slow suffocation. Please God give this man the strength to go through this. If it were one of my children, I don't know what I would do.

Yes, I remember this: A Michigan jury last month found Dr Jack Kevorkian guilty of second degree murder in the death of Thomas Youk, a 52 year old resident of Detroit who had amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

The guy couldn't push the button. Dr. K. needed to have some set up where the man blew through a straw and set a lever in motion.

This article says there are now 8 states that allow the Right to Die:
