2nd vaccine shot is history. No side effects except for a sore arm. Little sore, totally manageable. I believe I over did the leg press at therapy on Thursday. My shins are hurting at both legs. My therapist was working with another woman, and I just kept doing it while waiting for her to come back. After 6 reps of 20 presses, I realized she was involved with the other lady so when I stopped she iced me up. I woke up the last two days with my shins hurting. And rain the last two days don't help. I was asked to make 4 Communion calls for shut-ins this morning and talked with them longer than I usually do. Scheduled a 1/2 hour for each. None of these people have visitors. They have all gotten their vaccine, and since I had my second shot (and have had Covid) my pastor said I was good to do this. My heart is so sad for these people. I complain how life has been changed for me, however their life is so dark and desolate. With their permission, I have shared their phone numbers among them. Our parish was making calls at the beginning of the pandemic, but our Deacon who headed it up, lost his grandchild and a relative to Covid and has been a little of out touch. He has a daughter in California that has marital problems and he has been spending a lot of time there. So since I am feeling better, I am going to try and take on some more of these calls. I feel so good after spending time sharing God's word and the body of Christ with fellow parishioners. I hope that Margaret and my life never turns that lonely. The sad thing is two of the households have relatives that could but don't reach out to them. I assured them that I am their person who will be there on Saturday morning.
My friend Frank who got so sick from Covid, had a massive reaction from the Covid vaccine. It may have been couple with the therapy for his cognitive problems coupled with the vaccine that pushed him over the edge. He became very disoriented and clammy and cold. Another trip to the hospital which didn't find anything definitive, but they said they suspected a reaction from the vaccine. He came back home last night. I felt bad that I didn't know about it. His wife thought that she sent me texts about it, but I never got it. Well, I got to prepare for music for Mass tonight. So I better wrap this blog up. So glad to have a great day in progress.
