My son surprised me with an early Easter gift yesterday....well, maybe surprised isn't the correct word...but it is in a way....sort of....LOL

Anyway, I've now been in my house for forty-four years (as of last week) and used to have a flower bed in the front yard. Well, between working literally 100 hours a week between two jobs, going through the divorce and going back to school, it got put on the extreme back burner, and eventually, the grass took completely over.

So, a couple of days ago, my son, by hand with a pickax, re-dug the entire area where my original flowerbed used to be and dug it up so I could have my bulbs again! Used to be the first ones that came up in the Spring were the hyacinths, then the tulips, then the daffodils. Well, we've added the Star Orchid, which smell divine AND where I used to have a rose bush in the corner near the house, he also planted - again, using the pickax to dig up the dirt - a replacement rose bush, even though he hates them because of the thorns.

I offered to put in a gardenia tree instead - my favorite flower - but he said I needed something different since I already have four gardenia bushes planted along that same side in front of the house.

And once he dug up all three flower beds for me, he installed new garden borders and spread the new cedar mulch, which makes it look really nice.

If I could figure out how to transfer pics from his phone to the PC, I would show you. Instead, guess your imagination will have to do for now.

Sorry about that!
