Small steps bring huge results

I have had a great day. Went to see my neurologist who I started seeing a year ago because my husband and daughter thought I was loosing my memory. He felt at the time that my issues were medication related and encouraged me to try to switch some of my meds. So after a year of visiting all my doctors and discussing my medications I think that we have found the right combination of medication for all of my ailments. My doctor today was very pleased with my progress and my demeanor and said that I do not need to see him for a year. I am elated.

My husband commented that he feels like he has gotten back the wife he knew in 1992. He has been suffering with my conditions for a long time. And another doctor confirmed that one condition I no longer have is a result of the weight that I have lost.

I have lost 100 pounds over a 10 year period. It didn’t happen overnight and there was no magic fix. Small changes, in diet, exercise, sleep habits, and medications for different ailments have added up to big changes. I am satisfied with where I am right now. 40 to 60 minutes of exercise on most days, with a break here and there. Three meals a day with an occasional healthy snack. Even a low calorie sweet now and then. Lots more fresh fruits and vegetables.

Keep working on your program. Small steps build up to large changes over time. Don’t get discouraged, but if you do have a talk with a trusted friend or relative. You can do it!
