Thought and Prayer for Thursday, March 4, 2021

Thursday, March 04, 2021

We don’t ever want to say “if” trouble comes because we know trouble is coming. We may have a bad experience with our health. We could have issues with our relationships. We might have career woes or financial troubles. Just when things seem to be going right in life, trouble comes knocking at our door. Well, actually banging to the point that it breaks it down. So what do we do? How do we prepare?

The only true solution is to turn to God. He promises to rescue us from trouble…maybe not in our own time frame but according to His will and His way. We can get into His word now before the next big thing happens. We can prepare our hearts and minds with prayer and trusting in God so when trouble comes, we will automatically be calm knowing He is in control.

Trouble is always a learning opportunity for us. Rather than asking why is this happening to us. We can ask what we learn from it and get excited about what God has planned for us as we pass through this hard time in our lives. When we remember God promises to rescue us from trouble, we can rejoice knowing He is in control and we can excitedly anticipate what He is going to do.

Psalm 34:17 “The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles.” (NLT)

Romans 12:12 “Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.” (NLT)

1. Write what you do when there is trouble.
2. List what God says to do in His word.
3. Read about all of God’s promises before trouble comes.
4. Cling to His word and thank Him for His planned outcome.

Dear Lord, we know there will be trouble in our lives. Even though we have decided to follow Jesus, there will still be times of trouble. We are confident in Your word and Your promises to rescue us from trouble. We thank You for what You are going to do and what You are going to teach us when we are experiencing hard times. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Psalm 37:39 “The Lord rescues the godly; he is their fortress in times of trouble.” (NLT)

Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.” (NLT)

1 Samuel 26:24 “Now may the Lord value my life, even as I have valued yours today. May he rescue me from all my troubles.” (NLT)

Isaiah 33:2 “But Lord, be merciful to us, for we have waited for you. Be our strong arm each day and our salvation in times of trouble.” (NLT)

Nahum 1:7 “The Lord is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes. He is close to those who trust in him.” (NLT)

Psalm 9:9 “The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.” (NLT)
