Financial Weight Loss ... DEBT LOSS
Tuesday, February 16, 2021
From January 2020 to January 2021, I was able to decrease my total debt load* by $6,678.48.
I am pretty damn proud of myself, and am unbelievably motivated to decrease the debt load even more this year. Wells Fargo, you're going to be the next to go!
Getting the weight of debt off my shoulders is going to help me mentally be able to focus on other weight in my life ... including my physical weight!
*Does not include rent, electric, or internet bills as those are monthly recurring expenses.
For 2021, I've decided my biggest resolve is the following: Continuing to work on my "Financial Weight" ... otherwise known as DEBT.
From January 1, 2021 to February 1, 2021, I was able to decrease my total debt load by $497.93.
I have created a spreadsheet to keep track of various things (NERD ALERT), and by using a rough version of Dave Ramsey's "snowball" method, was able to put a big payment toward my current lowest balance. I should be able to have that credit card paid off by March 15th, barring any unforeseen expenditures (car repair, medical, dental, etc.)
The addition of the "Decrease in Debt Load" cell + formula is really motivating. As that number increases, it really shows that I'm making progress. And boy does that ever strengthen resolve!
I've also resolved to try and reign in dining "out" as it is a HUGE waste of money. I am working at chipping away at organizing my kitchen so I can start cooking healthy meals that will last me a few days lunches and dinners.
I just wish it wasn't so darn cold out; it's lighter later so I could squeeze a quick walk in, but when windchills bring them temp down to -10F and below, no matter how "protected" you are -- it just isn't safe!
