My brother in law passed away a week ago. He was 67 and died suddenly and unexpectedly of a heart attack.

When someone dies it puts your own life in perspective. I look at all the "junk" that I have accumulated and think about what I should get rid of so others don't have to. I praise God for my family and want to hold them closer. I think more about my health and my exercising.

We also have had to do a lot of tracking down paperwork and trying to sort through things. We will be getting our paperwork in order so others don't have to go through the heartbreaking search for things.

I know God has a time set for us all and there is nothing we can do to extend our days, but we can make the most of the days we have. Praise God for all you have, your family and friends. Tell them you love them and keep in contact with them. Send them a love note (the old fashioned way) or text or whatever, and mend broken relationships that need to be restored.

take care of yourselves my friends!

Sorry to hear about your brother in law. In the last year, I have removed so much "stuff" from our house!
    It feels amazing!!

I'm so sorry for the sudden loss of your brother-in-law. I do agree that when someone close to you dies, it makes you put your own life in perspective.
Like you and your husband, I need to work to get a lot of my things in order so that it won't be so difficult on my family members who will have to deal with them when I am gone. I am trustee of my aunt's estate, and she died in November with everything in order -- and I'm STILL dealing with a lot of paperwork. I owe it to my own adult children to have my own paperwork and my belongings in order, and right now I have a lot of "stuff and clutter."
You are so right that we need to make the most of the days that we have. None of us know how long that will be.
Take care, and thank you for reminding us to praise God, be thankful for what we have, and to love one another. Wise words.
