My daughter has a friend who is pretty picky about what she eats. A lot of what we eat she has never tried. My daughter and I both like to cook and mostly from scratch. We aren't much for meals from a box or jar. My daughter's friend has been spending more time at our place for various reasons. My daughter has gotten her friend to expand her palate lately. She has tried (and liked) carrots, chicken kiev, wild rice, oatmeal raisin cookies, and brussel sprouts. I am sure there are a few more things. I am proud of my daughter for cooking the food and making it presentable so her friend is willing to try it. My daughter has even inspired her friend to want to learn how to cook. All this warms the heart and reminds me I am doing a good job with her.
