Another update and a joke
Sunday, November 15, 2020
Hi everyone,
I went to the oncologist on Thursday. I will be getting Chemo as soon as I finish healing on the inside. Probably 2 more weeks.
I have another cat scan on Monday morning with the barium stuff I have to drink (2 bottles) 1 at night and 1/2 in the morning and I have to bring the other half. Then I have a mammogram in the afternoon.
She told me I might not need the port if my veins are good because the chemo I will be getting is Taxol 3-4 lbs and Carboplatin 1-2 lbs doesn't hurt the veins?
It will be every three weeks X 6 cycles.
I am meeting with her nurse this Wednesday who will go over side effects (which there are quite a few) and how to help get through them. Plus she will see if my veins will be good instead of the port.
AND that's about all I know right now. OH, and I should be able to go back to work (driving school bus) in 2 weeks. That is if they are not closed down again by then.
That's about it. How about some humor.....
THE FRESHMAN TEST
While visiting Annapolis, a lady tourist noticed several students on their hands and knees assessing the courtyard with pencils and clipboards in hand.
“What are they doing?” she asked the tour guide.
“Each year,” he replied with a grin, “the upperclassmen ask the freshmen how many bricks it took to finish paving this courtyard.”
When they were out of earshot of the freshmen, the curious lady asked the guide: “So, what’s the answer?”
The guide replied: “One.”
