The deck is done for the winter

Thursday, November 12, 2020

We are fortunate to still have both our parents and 4 generations working together to finish this project. My dad’s dr called and insist he does not drive to his appointment and we come in to sign the paperwork to have authorization so they can talk to us regarding medical concerns. I explained My dad set the boundaries and will have no part of it. This It is not worth fighting over, loosing sleep, stressing and hurt feelings. I agreed with my parents we are staying out of their personal life unless they want us or need us, we are one phone call away but we’re not forcing them or taking away their independence. Our covid outbreak is hitting the media as the church is now over 78 cases, 11 in the hospital and 1 death which we’ve know for weeks as we live in the middle of it and it’s our next door neighbors. My daughters dr ofc is closed for 2 weeks having been exposed and thankful she had the concussion when she did!

Prayers and positive thoughts going out for you and your family. I think you made a wise decision to let them retain as much independence as possible. I had a discussion with my father about his independence and I agreed to "butt out" unless he became a danger to others. Specifically if he were likely to burn down the house, not only could he be hurt but others could be hurt or killed, I would step in.

I sympathize with you and the parent situation. It's hard. Yea for the deck. Prayers that covid gets chased back to hell from whence it came!

Glad to hear the deck is done and peace is in your family. Hold on to that huge heart of yours, never tire of doing things for others, helping in ways that you can; using wisdom and LOVE, in all that you think, say and do. Keep on being YOU.
