Covid shelter in place, sort of

Like most people who are, ahem, "older", we haven't really gone anywhere. We are not masked paranoids, but we do respect others and ourselves while shopping. I thought how boring this life is now, but then I thought, "Is it? Is there nothing new?" I started a "Never Before" blog. I was wrong. Here is a week's worth.
10/20/20. Never before have I sat down at a McDonalds outdoor table and found a nickel under the bench.
10/21/20. Today I noticed a big difference in the front of old neighborhood garbage cans and the current ones. Been looking at them 25 years or more. Stopped and grabbed an abandoned traffic cone so we can protect our dog in the street.
10/22/20. Driving. Saw an electric bicycle go past on sidewalk. Then about ½ block later saw what looked like a sawed-off Segway. The control stalk didn’t even come up to the guys knees. Never before have seen that sequence, but really never before have I seen sawed-off looking power wheels.
10/23/20. Covi/Shadow, our neighbor’s mooch teenage cat went to the top of our cat condo, just after I had said to Paula that we’ve never seen him on the top. Never before for either of us.
10/24/20. I fed the neighbor’s cat on our kitchen counter at 3 a.m., Fancy Feast of course.
10/25/20. Just when I thought there would be nothing. I saw 2 people on a tandem bike on the steep hill on Suncrest. They were bent over spinning away up the hill doing about 2 miles an hour.
10/26/20. Watching TV morning news. Saw for first time that the big cameras on the set are moving remotely controlled. No cameraman with them. Had no idea!
10/27/20. Morning walk, sun is becoming low angle. Saw dog paw prints in a sidewalk repair. Walked over that spot many times. In a different block saw the initials JLH in driveway concrete.
10/28/20. Never have I seen the new signs every .2 miles to Santa Cruz county line on Highway 17. On our morning walk I saw 3 names in the sidewalk, one of which I’ve seen many times and two I never noticed before. Renee (old) Barb, and Ruth on same property. There are new rumble strips on 17, never before.
10/30/20. Woke up to Shadow (neighbor’s cat) playing in the dark with cords on mini-blind.
As you can see, there are new things almost every day.
