October 29, 2020 FIGHT FOR WHAT IS RIGHT
Many of us don’t fight because we aren’t sure it is worth it. Not necessarily a physical fight but taking a stand for what we believe. We don’t step out and stand up for what is important to us. We don’t ask questions for fear of being judged. We don’t speak out for fear of getting hurt. We don’t fight for what we believe in so we just sit back and let things happen.
That is why it seems the people who do speak out are the majority. Because they are loud and persistent. Because they aren’t afraid of standing up for what they believe is right…even if it isn’t. However, if we don’t take a stand and fight back with truth, no one wins. No one wins because those who do wrong hurt others with their plans of power. No one wins because those who know the truth and do what is right are afraid to fight. No one wins because the poor, the elderly and the naïve suffer.
But here’s the thing. We can fight and we can win when we do it God’s way. He gives us all we need for protection to fight against the wrong in this world. We can truly be protected from anything that man threatens us with when we trust in God. True protection comes from God. His word gives us ammunition to fight off temptations. We have the armor of God to use to resist the devil. We have God’s promises to protect us. So there is no reason at all for us to not speak out, stand up and fight for what is right.
Ephesians 6:13 “Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.” (NLT)
1. Write how you fight against evil.
2. List where and when you speak up for what is right.
3. Know God gives you all the protection you need.
4. Trust in Him and stand your ground speaking His truths to others.
Dear Lord, we have Your word which can help us in so many ways to fight the evil in this world. Help us to see opportunities to fight against wrongdoing and to speak out. Give us courage, strength and determination to speak Your truths, to wear the armor You have provided to us and to resist the enemy. Thank You for Your protection, Lord. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
