Few & Far Be-Tween

Yikes! I never expected the end times to arrive before I wrote my next entry.

So in January, I took a train to visit my parents for my birthday weekend and I finally got my free breakfast meal. My mom knitted me a DR Who scarf, right from the BBC pattern she found online. Later she made one for our dog too with the leftover wool. I'm not a rabid fan of the series, but I liked the gift. My spouse got one out of the deal too and that's his favourite doctor.

I got my pneumonia vaccine in February once I was really certain I had recovered from everything, plus had money to shell out nearly $200. I was just getting back into the swing of my crossing guard position when March Break arrived and never ended. Since then I've been stuck in a rut of varying degrees of depression. I was absolutely terrified when it began, especially when I heard it hits diabetics hard. Of course that fear has waned over time. Just can't go around all the time being that stressed out.

I tend to leave going to the grocery store to my spouse, but sometimes he forgets important items even when I write it down on the list. I so want to do online grocery shopping. He only did once - the weekend we awaited the covid-19 test results, because everyone in the household must isolate. We've been ordering more takeout than we should, and I've seen drivethrus a lot.

My niece was sent back to school in person which is why we had someone that might have the cornavirus. She didn't, but couldn't go back to school until she stopped coughing and sniffling. I wish they had signed her up for online learning but it's not up to me. I got my flu shot last week as soon as I possibly could, but that won't protect me from you know what.

I got the lab results back from my biannual PAP too. It confirmed the visual results of no abnormal cancerous cells, so unless I start bleeding or something, I don't have to go back for a whole year.

I lost my taste for diet coke when I got sick last winter. I switched to Sprite Zero and Schweppes blood orange soda, both of which have been impossible to find ever since aluminum became scarce. Now I'm on A&W root beer mostly. I miss my Sprite Zero. I caved and had a regular one awhile ago and it was wayyyyy toooooo sweet. At least during the summer I had Tim Horton's Strawberry Creamy Chills. Not good as I'm lactose intolerant, so I tried to keep them as limited as possible. I'm trying to make them at home now but it's just not the same. I'm guessing at the ingredients and portions so of course, it isn't half as good.

Make today the greatest day of your life
    Until tomorrow!

Memorize the self-starter DO IT NOW! DO IT NOW! can affect every phase of your life. It can help you do the things you should do but don't feel like doing. It can keep you from procrastinating when an unpleasant duty faces you. But it can also help you do those things that you want to do. It helps you seize those precious moments that, if lost, may never be retrieved.
