Serenity Sunday

Sunday, October 18, 2020

I love Sundays! It is a day that I have come to devote to only those things that help me feel serene. No demands. No expectations. No chores. No cooking. Only those activities which nurture me and fill my "bucket" for the upcoming week.

I spend most of the morning trying to evaluate where I have been during the past week in remaining committed to and achieving my goals. Then I develop a strategy plan for the upcoming week. Sounds great, doesn't it?! It has not actually gone so smoothly. I have been hanging on by a thread; just on the edge of feeling out of balance. I have made no progress towards my goals in months despite my Habit Tracker. I seem to be just going through the motions. Not pushing myself too hard because I already feel the underlying current of stress that resent events of the pandemic and presidential election have brought on.

But enough is enough. I have read some very inspirational blogs recently. I also ran across a statement from last year that went something like "You are at your lowest weight for this year" (or something close to that idea). Last year I didn't believe it, but recent months have added back the 10# I worked to hard to achieve. The end of this year will not be a repeat for me.

My plan is set for this coming week - Fitness Goals are at the top of my list! I am not a quitter.

Ahhh ... my Sundays are my re-filling days. Re-filling my soul.

We are retired but Sundays have always been the day I ease into, look back on the week passed and look forward to the week ahead. What worked ... what needs more work.

Sounds like a motivating plan! You have all the tools and know which ones work for you at this point. You can do this. Sometimes we have to just regroup and cut back. Exercise is great for mind and body! Wishing you the best as it all comes together! It will work if you work it!

Yep! I hear ya with the stressors of life... Don’t let your reasons become excuses is my advice to myself. We have every reason to want control and comfort but using those as excuses to eat crap or eat snacks or eat too much will not get the results we want.

I know. You know. We all “know.” So now let’s DO!
I hope your Sunday was fulfilling!
    Spark on!

emoticon I am in your shoes exactly and the lack of motivation for exercise and feeling anxious all the time has added 7# which I am determined to lose.
After that I will attack the last 10 which I want to lose because I won’t give up.
Anyway I’m so glad to see you here! We can all tie our threads together here and we’ll be ok no matter how the uncontrollable things go.
We really can control this even if it’s not easy! emoticon
