So, I finally found out friday that I've been working with a fractured thumb since my fall back in JULY when I also fractured my skull!?!?

The skull fracture is finally healed, some of the brain damage is permanent. Minor, though, thank god!

The thumb, however. emoticon emoticon

I've been working with it this whole time because the original xray report was "negative for fracture "!? I get that people have bad days and things get missed, but...

Sigh. Looking for options, probably going to have to have surgery to remove the bone fragment that's still floating in there. Then deal with all the shredded tendons and ligaments from the fragment moving around in there all this time.

Finally diagnosed, so no moving it, splint it (trying to find one that doesn't have to pull on over the fracture!), ice it, take nsaid prescription, and wait and see.

Can 2020 be done, please? I'm afraid I'm not going to survive much more emoticon

Slowly trying to get things back under control, so I can concentrate on my weight again.

Hugs, prayers, and support needed and appreciated!!

Stay safe, sparkies!

What a frustration! I did the same thing with my back a number of years ago, falling off a mule! Everyone was laughing about the mule, but I'm in a wheelchair now....sigh...I hope you get it fixed! It's been a difficult year for all of us.

It hasn’t been the best year. Sorry to hear about your thumb, that’s got to be painful. Walmart sells a thumb stabilizer, Mueller Sports Medicine, that might work. At least it would immobilize your hand enough that it will remind you not to use it. Glad the skull fracture is healed. Please, don’t fall again! I’m praying for a calm and uneventful year for you, starting now.
