It is amazing how quickly time flies. So for full disclosure I only have my phone at home right now with data, and trying to blog from a phone is so annoying in so many ways LOL!!! I was off 39 days from work, and I prefer to blog from work where I can use the computer.

So my last blog I said I saw 261. I of course did not get back on track right away, I saw 263. Then I went to San Diego to a nice airbnb on the beach, and went with my bestie to San Diego. It was my first ever trip to the San Diego Zoo & Safari Park. I felt very safe because it was outdoors, masks were required, I did not have to touch anything and I felt it was very easy to stay socially distant from people. I had a cold when I got back (I think from the change in weather) so about 5 days after I got back I got a covid test and it was negative. I'm all better (from my cold) now this was a couple weeks ago.

I bought the pass for the zoo, so I was able to go 3 separate days to the zoo cuz I was dying to see the polar bears. Every time we got there too late and they were hiding in their air conditioned caves (which I do not blame them). So finally the 3rd time was the charm! I watched them for an hour and one of them was swimming and it was so exciting to see.

When we went to the Safari Park it was 103 degrees so we did not stay long. I did get to see, two gorgeous 2 year old elephants. It has been on my bucket list to see baby elephants and I considered these still as babies. Absolutely gorgeous! I will include some pics below. Also, I want to go to the Safari Park in the future when I can actually pay to do a safari. There were also baby rhinos which I would have LOVED to see but they were hiding.

So I ate a ton of delicious food in San Diego, we mostly ordered from local restaurants and brought it back to eat at the air bnb. I came back from San Diego and was only up to 264. I say only cuz I was 263 when I got to San Diego LOL, thank goodness for small favors.

Since getting back from San Diego I have been tracking my food and I am down to 256. I am so relieved to be out of the 260s but also relieved to have found routine and stopped the gain. I was so afraid I was going to keep gaining and get back to my starting weight years ago of 272. I am just glad I have turned it around but I know this is a life long struggle and I can't start slipping up now.

I have another mini trip planned to Morro Bay... I'm going alone, staying in air bnb and hoping to see the Elephant Seals in Cambria and will see the giant Morro Bay Rock. I live about 3 hours away and have never seen it. This pandemic has definitely allowed me to explore the state I have lived in my whole life and see places I've never seen before. I was initially going to Yosemite with a friend (where I've also never been), but due to the recent fires we decided against it. So I planned my solo trip to Morro Bay. When traveling I only have been going places I can drive to. I Have been picking up food, and have been picking outdoor activities to avoid crowds. I know there is still risk associated but I still have to work in an office, so I already have some risk just from my job. So I am trying to find the balance between hiding at home and being careless if that makes sense.
