Optimism says it all

Optimism is the hopefulness and confidence about the future or the successful outcome of something.
I am so excited! Our Fall 5% Challenge started yesterday and I started out great! I have to admit that a lot of the things I was already doing but I am tightening the belt a little.
October 3: Take the first step towards a goal that really matters to you.
My goals for October are:
Lose 8 lbs
Drink 8 cups of water daily
Exercise 30 minutes daily (increasing once weekly)
Eat Salad for lunch daily
Eat a low carb dinner
Fresh fruit snack in the afternoon and evening
Okay, so I am supposed to pick a goal LOL. I am definitely optimistic and I am concentrating on all my October goals. That is the meaning of optimism after all.
October 4th: Be a realistic optimist. See life as it is, but focus on what is good.
See life as it is, Wow! Okay well I have some serious and incurable health issues and some serious health issues that will diminish and go away if I lose weight and get healthy.
Focus on what is good. What is good is that my future is in my hands and of course God's hands. As long as I choose to eat healthy, exercise and focus on why I am doing this then I can have a good and happy longer life.
Why am I doing this?
1. I will watch my grandchildren graduate
2. I will watch them get married if they choose
3. I will play with my great grandchildren
4. I will grow older with my DH
