October

The month of October starts off the celebrating for my family. Between Oct. 9 and the 30th my mom, my niece, and my daughter have a birthday. Add in my aunt and 2 cousins in there as well (we don't get together with them anymore however).

October means officially it is fall around these parts. I do like some cooler weather by now. I like to wear sweatshirts and sweat pants. We like to go to the apple orchard during this time. Hot apple cider and anything with baked apples is a hit in my house. The crisp air and changing leaves is a welcome change. My daughter starts up with coffee. I enjoy the aroma filing the air in the house.

October starts the prepping for the holidays for me as well. I am an organized person when it comes to all this. I don't like to be stressed and suffer from the holiday rush. I can get my Christmas money out of my hidden savings and start shopping. Lists will come in now. I can buy things as I see them on sale. I will start thinking about Thanksgiving and the meal I will be making. I can start buying the shelf stable ingredients as they come on sale as well.
