Need Advice

On 9/27/20, I will have been living a healthy lifestyle for 3 months. I average 1200 calories a day or a little less. I have been doing intermittent fasting on a 12:12 or 16:8 schedule (mostly 16:8). In the last ten days, I not only did NOT lose weight, but I actually gained a pound. I am very discouraged! I have so much weight to lose and cannot afford to already hit a plateau or go backwards. I love eating healthy and don't want to go back to eating processed or junk foods. I have been able to totally quit taking Metformin for diabetes as of 8/21/20 and my numbers are good. I love that! I feel better but the scale is not saying success! I sure would like to know what I am doing wrong.
I need help and encouragement now.

    I'm not an expert. I had insulin resistant issue where I produced too much insulin than what was needed and the Dr and dietician put me on a low carb intake and so I try to eat in the low end of the range that was prescribed for me, and I have lost weight, But even I go to the top of the range one or two days I still have lost weight, But it is not a fast weight loss it is steady 1 to 1.5 a week.

    Congratulations on improving your sugar numbers! I know you want to see that number go down on the scale and in time it will. Before I lose I gain then drop a few pounds. It might be water weight. I only weigh myself once a month because the scale has a way of bringing me down. I make improving my diet and exercise my main focus and not the scale. I just starting reading "The State of Slim" and I find it motivating and packed full of good advice. Keep on keeping on the right path. emoticon

    Try drinking lots of water and exercising of you don't already. You can also try mixing up your calorie intake - more than usual some days, less other days to keep your metabolism on its toes so it doesn't just adjust to eating less.

    Sometimes the body does that. As someone else mentioned, your body could think it's in starvation mode. If that's the case, I guess you could try adding another 100 or 200 calories one or two days a week. I'm NO expert of any kind, though, so hopefully someone with more knowledge than me will come along and comment. Also, remember that measuring your arms, thighs, waist, neck, etc. are also good ways to measure progress. ****Getting off Metformin and having good blood sugar numbers is AWESOME and something to be so proud of!!!! My husband wishes he could do that. Your hard work has paid off big-time!!!

    Keep tracking everything. You'll learn from it. At 1200 caloi, maybe you're not eating enough and your body is going into starvation mode. It happens! Keep up the healthy living. Not all progress shows up on the scale. Being off Metformin is progress

    Are you walking or doing other exercise? If you are doing everything right, don't worry about the scale and don't get weighed daily. The weight will come off, just don't obsess about it.
