Wow, so a little over a week ago, on Labor Day, I went for a nice long bike ride (long for me 6 miles one way) and then the smoke/air quality plummeted. I should have known by my sinus response to that bike ride that the air quality was quickly diminishing.
anyway, so I dusted off the rowing machine AND the treadmill and started exploring the videos on iFit (came with my rower 1 year free memebership) but for treadmill workouts.
*I am training for a virtual 5K having been away from running for years now.
And guess what.. I'm TOTALLY loving the treadmill workouts!
1. iFit running videos have a HUGE variety.
2. I found the trainers to be excellent coaches AND full of local information about the geology, history, culture of the area where you are working out.
3. I'm 'running' in the Hawaiian islands!!!
Anyway, just wanted to share. My treadmill isn't iFit compatible, so it doesn't 'sync' but I just move the pace and incline to my choosing. SO, if you are stuck inside, or have an old exercise equipment and need new motivation, look for some videos online, see if you can find a video to walk, jog, bike, row along to.. I'm sure Youtube is full of them. I found one that is a walk in Paris (where I should be right now if the pandemic hadn't happened).
Here's a pic of the trainer Stacie Clark running on black sand beach from the series I'm doing. Most of the time, you are at her shoulder running and the camera will pan and show you the views.. makes the workout go by so much faster. I even took time to do a walk yesterday evening in St. Lucia!
