Keto - Ok

In late August, I received my annual physical lab results. Normally, I'm over on my BMI but this year I also missed my blood glucose markers. My blood sugar levels during fasting put me closer to "you have Diabetes" than "you aren't prediabetic". I'd already discussed the ketogenic (keto) diet with my doctor, as it has now been endorsed by the American Diabetes Association. Doctor had patients with success following keto to the point where their diabetes and other issues were reversed, including need for prescriptions. She still encouraged a DASH diet or Mediterranean diet but said I could try keto if I wished. Her only warning was to be prepared that some of her patients did get "keto flu". As most of the symptoms of keto flu are what I battle with on any given day (headaches, GI issues and diarrhea, etc) I didn't have too much to lose to trial it. I reserved keto recipie books from my library and browsed online. Feeling prepared, I started on Labor Day Monday 2020. I'm quite sedentary, working long hours at my desk job, and hurt my lower back on Friday through today still so movement has been minimal. Today a wave of nausea came then passed mid-day; however tonight, bedtime, the nausea returned to the point where I was awaken 2hrs after falling asleep. I thought the nausea might turn to vomiting as I envisioned my body getting rid of the junk inside it from my normal diet. It didn't, and after using the bathroom to eliminate, I'm feeling less nauseous. Will need to keep up better on fluid intake and watching vitamin/ minerals as well.
