So after last Friday's successful run/jog. I ended up wanting to ride that wave and I took pity on my Pitty and took him with me on Sunday and Monday. We only did 2 miles jogging but on Sunday I added on a little walking cool down to finish it off an extra 1/4 mile.
My overall pace is slower with him but on weekend mornings when I'm feeling especially less than enthusiastic, having him to help put more purpose behind my slogging up the road helps quite a bit.
I took yesterday off running as a 'rest' day.. I may only be going 2 to 2.4 miles, but I don't want to over do it too much too soon.
So this morning, I was bad doggy mom and left Barkley at home and went for 2.3 miles. I slowed down to walk a few times to bring the heart rate down but overall my pace is good the first mile (12'33" and slower the second mile 14'11".. although I don't know why it is so much slower the second mile! it is more downhill than the first mile!!;)
Next time, I need to map out a new course that adds a little more mileage in..after all I am training for a 5K. And I had a time constraint today of a morning meeting and making sure my kids were ready for their first day of virtual school!!
anyway, here I am, easing back into running. I have been feeling so good the rest of the day after running, it is big incentive to stick with it.
Also first week of BLC fall round, so I have a weigh-in every Wednesday!!
