Don't TELL Me You're Sorry!
Wednesday, September 02, 2020
I've taught my children that "I'm sorry" is just 2 words, fairly WORTHLESS without action to "fix what you broke, to return what you took." It isn't hard even to return "time". You took somebody's time? You give it back! You can do a chore that gives them the time to do what they had wanted to do with the time you took. Hire a maid or babysitter for them. Pay for a massage to relieve the stress you caused them.
Saying JUST "I'm sorry" is for kids. CHILDREN. And even children often instinctively know to offer a hug and a toy to the child they hurt.
Supposedly you're an adult now -- so do the adult thing! Use your words AND BACK THEM UP WITH ACTION!
