Days 8,9,10 Whoops got behind a bit!

Saturday, August 15, 2020

These days have been a blur. We have been packing up my son's house, he is moving to another state. This will be hard, he has lived close to me for 2 years now. I could walk up to his house and ask him to loosen a lid or share dinner. I have enjoyed it, to say the least. It has been nice. I am the one who told him he needed to move out. For a couple reasons. The main one, I felt like I was becoming a burden. I am on disability and not able to drive, he has been here driving me everywhere. Worrying about me and feeling like he had to live close to take care of me. I'm going to miss those three grandkids running down here, "Nana can I stay the night?" As much as I want him to move, this is so hard. So, emotional eating has been plaquing me this week. That and keeping the house in grandma mode, meaning lets make cookies, or a cake.

On the positive side, I have really enjoyed goofing with the kiddos all week. Today, we packed up their room and toys and worked hard for four hours. My granddaughter has challenged me to a dance off most every day this week. They are good for me! I have not gone over on my calories this week. Not all things were on the healthy side though! I gained two pounds last week. Hopefully, on Monday the scale likes me a little!

Thanks for letting me chat, and catch up. My small changes have been striving to get in more exercising. Stay within my calorie limit. Signing in everyday and logging too. I have tried to get in lots of points too. So the blogging fell behind with my busy week. I have some long streaks with a lot of these changes. Hopefully blogging will become a habit too.

(We just learned that my granddaughter had a friend spend the weekend at her mom's house. The friend just tested positive for the virus. Prayers for her friend, that she gets well quick. And prayers for my granddaughter and families that they don't get this virus too. Thanks.+

Sending lots of prayers and hugs. I know how lonely feels. This has been the first time I have ever lived alone. Moved into a little house in May. I fell about a month ago and still having trouble with my knees.. my youngest grandson just got a job a few blocks away from me. He’s going to move in for a few months til he can get a car and apartment. Since hubby passed in 2015 stayed 4 years with one grandson then one with another until I decided maybe I should get my own places because they both had babies and I didn’t want to take up the room. It is hard living alone. But you know what? It gives you to find out who you are and what you want.

Prayers to you all, hopefully everyone is well.

I don't have children but it's still not easy for my parents that I am not close by, nor for me. Technology is so much better these days though, you can keep in touch in so many ways! I am sure your relationships will continue to grow on the strong foundation you have built these last 2 years.

I know all about emotional eating, but if possible (I am talking to myself here too!), try to go for healthier foods even if they take you over your limit for one day. Unhealthy foods are more likely to be moreish and send you off track for longer.

Stay safe & remember I'm here if you need to chat.
