TAKING THE BALL AND RUNNING WITH IT!

Thursday was my first real day of vacation since January, and I think I'm the last person at my job to take one. I desperately needed it. I managed to get up and feed the chickens that morning, but that was probably the first, and last, truly productive thing I did all day. I talked with my sister about it the next day, and she basically told me to stop being so hard on myself, that sometimes when you've been moving hard every day, stopping means you need to reset. Thursday was my reset day.
Then came Friday, where I woke up and decided to just listen to my body and let it lead the way. I have a general To Do list that I use (with separate sections for "Working Day" and "Day Off"), and I took a look at that and decided to focus on one of the projects I've been procrastinating on lately. That went so well that I moved on to the next project... and then the next project.
The feeling of relief and excitement I felt at taking care of these things that had been weighing on me for sometime prompted me to get up and do my walk/jog around the block, which made me feel even better.
Today I took that enthusiasm and ran with it, not just going around the block for my cardio but then coming home and using an exercise band and a workout DVD to focus on my arms and legs. I've whipped through so many items on my To Do list that I'm feeling really good about how things are going.
The trick is to remember this feeling, this exhilaration and positivity and pride and to keep working on continuing my streak. But I also want to remember this feeling for days when I'm not so productive, to remind myself if I've done it once, I can totally do it again.
So my wish to all of you is to have productive days, to embrace them and to appreciate yourself for doing them. We're so quick to wallow in what we think are our failures; we need to take our successes and use them as reminders of what we can do, of what we have already done.
