Today's challenge was to give myself a pep talk, speaking to myself just as I would encourage someone else.
So, Claire, DON'T BE DISCOURAGED! Or, for a positive spin...BE ENCOURAGED! Just because you slipped for several days doesn't mean you should give up.
For one, you didn't drink enough water for the past several days. Drink enough water and it will help. It has in the past; there's no reason it won't help now.
Second: You can do this. Call upon the strength that is within you. Don't be afraid, and don't give in. What was that quote? Every time you give in to temptation, you are giving a victory to the enemy. You don't need to give him any victories. He is already defeated. He doesn't need to be puffed up.
Third: You don't have to make excuses for eating the wrong things. Acknowledge why you are wanting to eat, then make a wise decision. Don't justify it. Justifying it won't help you now and especially won't help in the long run.
Fourth: Put everything in perspective. If you slip up, and you probably will, it doesn't change who you are. Also, if, in the moment, you really, really want to eat something to make yourself feel better, remember that food is not what can make you feel better.
Fifth: Every tine you succeed, you are becoming a little stronger.
So, Claire, be encouraged. YOU CAN DO THIS!
