Day 9 and 10 I don't want to be a Tupperware hoarder...

Tuesday, May 12, 2020

I went through all the containers and matched tops and whatever didn't have a top was toss or something that yellowed was tossed. I had a hard time with this and made my husband get the tossed items out of the house asap before I could change my mind... Why would I have a hard time with things like this you ask? Years of being around My grandma who was born in 1922 and was poor and they keep everything as they did back in the depression era.. My mom... At her house she has a counter top probably 2ft by 4ft that is piled high with containers... Yellowed yucky missing top containers... Also my mom says she isn't a hoarder because her house has never looked like the houses on the show Hoarders... But the upstairs of my parents home is filled with things... There are "paths"... When I moved out I wasn't allowed to take my bed... As it was hers I even offered to buy it from her a few weeks ago for my son and she refused... The bed hasn't been used since I moved out when I was 18... I only want the frame.. Also all my clothes, cds and other normal things a 18 year old would own I was not allowed to have. I am not allowed in my parents basement because the last time I was down there I said it needed to be cleaned...fyi their main floor is 90% clean and movable. I am FAR from there BUT it makes me panic... I can't be like my parents...
