Make it Count!

"Half Ass" is defined as "doing something with little effort or care.

That's pretty much how my approach to diet and exercise has been for the past 10 years: Half Ass.

It's shocking, really, when I look back at past "achievements" and wonder how I got back here. Am I the same person I was then? Yes. And No. People change from year to year. Goals change year to year. When I look back at the woman I was--competing, training, etc--it was all good, but it's not me anymore.

But there is one thing I used to say then that still applies today: Make it Count.

Every workout. Every meal. Every prayer. Every moment with my family.

Make it Count.

There was no Half assery going on back then. And I want to bring that attitude back into this decade.

So, here it is:

1. Plan out my meals.

This was huge for me back when I first started Sparkpeople. I planned out my meals for the week on paper, then daily would enter them into my tracker. I knew what was going in my body so there were no surprises.

2. Plan out my workouts.

I used a notebook and planned out every cardio session and every weight training session.

3. Log into Sparkpeople DAILY.

So many great resources are available here.

4. Eat and workout with intention.

No more going through the motions and not challenging myself in the gym. Push myself and see what my body can do. I know what it's capable of, because I've done it before.
