I feel the most difference in my energy level and back issues. I struggle with some back pain, and I find that I have a lot less tension. Doing step aerobics has helped me tremendously! It burns quite a few calories from what I can see on the spark tracker. I also watch a lady on Youtube sometimes named Jenny Ford who has beginner steps all the way to advanced.
There is a YMCA where I live, but the pool isn't open yet. :( I really miss just being in the water and swimming laps. It's almost like a meditation for me, I get so relaxed. It's a pretty quiet gym since i live in such a small town ,so it's almost pure silence whenever I go swimming. So I have time to just focus and be mindful of the moment. I read this quote on spark once, I love it and it sums up a lot:

Along with living a healthier lifestyle and exercise, here are some things I am beginning to practice and learn on my journey. I'm not quite where I want to be yet, but I like to think I'm making progress each new day.
I try to just live in the present moment. Life isn't worth living if it's wasted on worry and anxiety. Sometimes it's hard though. I know I have a family history of anxiety and mental illness, but that can't be my excuse for giving into it and letting it rule me. It can still be managed.
Last night I just decided, hey, I'm going to exercise away the pain. Stress melted away, and afterwards, I kind of forgot what I was initially upset about!
Exercise in itself can be a meditation. With so many beautiful days, you can meditate and be mindful when you walk. Count on your senses. Listen to the birds, the sound of your feet hitting the pavement. Watch the people, the animals, the flowers. Send a blessing to the people you see walking by.This would work for biking too! It can actually be so relaxing and stress relieving if you have the right mind set :)
With step aerobics, it almost feels like an "in the moment" type of feeling too. I turn on music that energizes and motivates me and I feel myself moving towards my goals. With music the half hour just goes by so much faster.
Someone once told me when you exercise, try imaging that you are already at your desired weight goal, and that you've been exercising for years. I notice when I try this, i lift my dumbbells faster, I have the energy to do more crunches, and so on. It's almost like a law of attraction thing. I wonder if there's any truth to it. Just try it some time!
Anyway, with everything going on in the world right now, if we still want to be happy and hopeful, I know I personally need to focus more on the present. I can't be worrying about what ifs and regrets from my past. So far, I want to be content with the progress I am making, not be impatient about where I want to be. I'm just so happy and thankful for spark and blogging and glad that we are all in this together! Thanks for reading!
