"United We Stand; Divided We Fall." --our nation's motto and today's TRUTH

Wednesday, April 15, 2020

Some people get what they ask for -- like my idiot doctor brother who met up in Colorado with an idiot doctor friend. This was immediately after said friend attended an idiot medical conference with a whole lot of other idiot doctors in SEATTLE 2 weeks after the news hit the USA that the virus was raging thru Seattle and 2 months after all the news about how COVID raged thru China. So it was IDIOT ARROGANT DOCTORS who (IMO) helped spread COVID throughout the USA!!!! I have NO sympathy for my brother who got sick in Colorado and then drove home spreading his germs 1000 miles along the way. (He's recovering now.) He HAD to have known he was taking a chance. Ditto for people now who engage in risky behavior.

It does make me SAD that there are so many Americans who consider this to be a political and/or religious issue and are willing to risk their lives (and thereby also everyone's) rather than behave to stamp out the virus.

Now, I KNOW that perfect behavior all by yourself does not gain you an impervious shield/free pass against the virus. Since the government has chosen not to provide adequate testing, It takes EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US being perfect for a month or 2 for us all to be able to return to the world we once lived in. And that's just not going to happen given the divisions in our country!

"United We Stand; Divided We Fall." --our nation's motto.
With this virus, we are LITERALLY falling! There is NO "herd immunity." Our federal government has chosen not to act to contain the virus. We don't have a vaccine; IF we're lucky we might get one in a year. Or 2..... IF.

Meanwhile, a lot more of us will die. I believe that it is gonna take years for the virus to mutate enough for it to lose its level of threat. It is up to US to protect ourselves. How? H-O-W -???

We have 500 years of history around the world that proves at least one method WORKS. It is called "isolation" or "social distancing" or even "quarantine." Without tools, without tech, anybody can do it. The problem is: EVERYBODY has to do it. Or, we can keep dying.

BUT! We can make it easier on ourselves. We need to DEMAND quarantine for ALL until there are enough COVID tests for ALL. And ONLY then those who have tested free of COVID may be free from quarantine. Wouldn't YOU like to know that the person standing next to you in line, or your co-worker, or that kid out walking the dog past you, or the postman delivering your mail, or the person taking care of your toddlers or parents while you work, ISN'T going to make you sick?

Can't we all unite against our common fear and act for the common good?

Agree and people need to stop with the political and religious propaganda. This is a time for unity and it's not happening This is a time to allow experts to share what they know and in this case, what they don't yet give their best practice advice. This is a time to move forward and it's not happening. Leadership comes from the top and, unfortunately, we don't have it.

I fear for the people who are protesting their "rights". I have a niece my marriage who posted my body my choice Covid-19. Really ? Curious to see how she feels on the other side of this, if she makes it.

Stay healthy, incorporate smart practices and we should all flatten that curve.

100% agree. It's not a political or religious issue, but it sure is a MORAL issue. People who flaunt the need for us to isolate ourselves until there is adequate testing and/or a vaccine are simply being immoral and indifferent to human suffering.

Great blog. Yes, we all have to do our part as sometimes there are not symptoms and we don't know it has hit us. Right now the isolation and social distancing is the answer. Keep your distance when you are out. That doesn't mean you won't get it buy there is a better chance.

Thank you for doing your part!
