Sunday Drive on Tuesday

Wednesday, April 08, 2020

After being basically at home since March 8th, I decided it was time to get out. Alright, yes we did meet with Precious First Born and the Grands to exchange birthday gifts last Thursday. But this was to be a picnic at the shore. Our first location was closed. Second choice had a more limited view and use of the picnic tables were prohibited! Really?

Alrighty then, we ate in the car and enjoyed the view. Yes we are being careful. Now the are even recommending that we do not even go to the grocery store because both hubby and I are considered high risk! Say what? Do I trust someone else to pick my fresh produce. Will I have to resort to frozen? They do not have frozen cucumbers, LOL.
Thinking of the changes that need to take place. I need to suck it up. Hubby is a happy homebody, Me not so much.

Grateful - For getting out of the house. For a lovely pink full moon. For Disney flicks to entertain middle son.

The restrictions on seniors are for your protection. Initially it was anyone 60 or older, II was in that group. It has now changed to 65+. Interesting. My 80 year old Mom told me last summer she would not be able to pick out her tomatoes. My sister is heading to their house today to set up online shopping. As I shared with her, tomato shopping ones at toooooo high of a price.

My hubs is in food manufacturing, he has been for over 39 years. He loves grocery shopping, so he does this for us. His comment on personal shoppers (made months ago)...they’re out early, picking out the best. Seriously, it keeps them all in business...at least before the virus. I hear ya on being home, haven’t been anywhere other than our home or vehicle since March 11th. Thank goodness it’s spring or almost spring weather to let us escape outside.

Better days ahead. Extreme measures for a deadly virus. We’re flattening the curve and respecting the efforts and selflessness of those mighty people caring for those ill and dying. You matter, this will pass. Frozen stuff is hard to come by...but I’m enjoying the offerings I never knew existed. Like avocados?!

    Be well...

The restrictions on seniors are terrible, and almost everyone is breaking rules.
