A Beautiful Day
Sunday, April 05, 2020
Today was one of those rare days where I managed to spend most of it relaxing. I got up and went for a walk this morning around my neighborhood. I'm fortunate to have some nice views from my neighborhood, so being outside, seeing the blooming bushes and mountains and hearing the birds chirp, always brings peace and calmness to me. So it was a beautiful way to start my day.
The rest of the day I spent with the windows of the house open, doing several relaxing tasks. I even got to spend some time journaling - something I don't really do a lot of, but decided I would start keeping better notes and ideas on my health and wellness goals, I'm finding it is helping me stay on track. It was a lazy day, and most needed, which allowed me to get centered for the week ahead.
I'm still working, so tomorrow I head back to work. It makes me anxious, despite it being reasonably low risk where I work, but I've found that I am fearful of eating and even drinking at work now. Perhaps a little paranoid, but it does allow me to sleep better at night, so I'm willing to make that tradeoff. And there are worse things than having your stomach growl a bit in the late afternoon.
Anyway, it's good to take a moment or an hour or whatever time you have, to check in with yourself and recenter when needed.
