If not now when?

Sunday, April 05, 2020

Hi all. I have come to the conclusion that this shut down is a gift. I always have excuses as to why I can't take care of myself, why I can't follow my plan. I always have to do something for someone else or be somewhere else, or I'm too tired.

That is no longer the case. I am fortunate enough to be working from home and I still have my family around me. However, I do not have to go to work and be gone for 12+ hours a day, I don't have to run my kids to practice or work, I don't have to go anywhere.

I can continue not taking care of myself or I can use this time to get into a routine and be healthier by the time I can start doing all of the other things in my life. I am hopeful I will feel so good that I will be able to find a new normal that involves taking care of myself once this happens.

My plan:
*Write up my daily schedule and FOLLOW it:
*Strength Training, Zumba or dancing 7:15-7:45
*Walk one dog at lunch 12:00-12:30
*Walk the other dog when the school day ends - 3:30-4:00
*Stand up walk around and stretch every hour when my Fitbit buzzes at me.

I can do this.

    Yes, you can! emoticon

We each have a choice of whether to let this opportunity fizzle beneath or take advantage of it. It may be dark days, but it does offer the chance to rethink how we approach our lives on a daily basis.
