Sugar cravings, Day 7 (Tame your Sweet Tooth Challenge)

"Some of us are more prone to caving into sugar cravings in certain situations, whether it be at work, at parties, or while hanging out with friends and family. Today, on top of journaling about your cravings, think of a situation where you often let sugar get the best of you. Then, come up with a game plan for the next time you find yourself in that scenario. (For example, if you always find yourself reaching for the candy bowl on your co-worker's desk, try a different route where you don't have to walk past it.) Then, share on the Team Wall about the situations where you tend to struggle the most--and share your ideas for crushing your cravings before they start."
It's funny how today's journal topic is about a game plan for sugar cravings when my sparkcoach video was also about game plans for certain situations. If that couldn't be more timely, yesterday my husband and I actually cleaned out our pantry. All our wheat flour gone, leftover candy from Hazel's Christmas stocking tossed out, and refined sugars in the trash. From now on it's not allowed for any of us and that's fine with me.
Regarding my sugar cravings otherwise I can happily say that I have stuck to my 30/10 plan to the T for 3 days now and have lost 4.2 pounds in that amount of time. I'm also finding it easier to resist things as I continue to say no. Another thing that has been helping is that since this coronavirus hit I've been boosting my immune system with a tea my friend made for me with ginger root. I've been drinking it nonstop and it's been a wonder at appetite suppression too! So not only have my cravings been down I'm also satisfied just having the food in my plan and no more. I wonder if ginger is known for reducing sugar cravings too.
So my plan today? Continue drinking tea, organizing the house, planting a few vegetables, and sticking to my plan. I think I can handle doing this for one more day.
